Fun and games: We need a name for ourselves

Alright, enough with the FA talk. It's kind of boring with the same names being regurgitated day in day out in multiple threads. How about we dedicate the off-season until draft time to finding a name for ourselves, the fans of the Montreal Canadiens.

I have seen some references over the season to Habs Nation or Canadiens Nation, but those names are too much of a rip off of the original nation, Red Sox Nation. We already have a plagiarized Leaf Nation and Sens Nation right in the NE division. Some factions of Sens fans are known as Sens Army, which is pretty good and original but still not widely accepted.

I propose that we find something that could be accepted in both French and English (again the emphasis is on could be but not necessarily an absolute must). However, something original and catchy is required.

Let me start it off with a couple of suggestions...

Habistan - We might end up as the next country on Bush's Axis Of Evil, but it might be worth it.

MHL - Montreal Hockey Legion - We could even come up with the logo which would be just like the NHL logo but going in the other diagonal direction.

Just some ideas.

Wasn't the original nation "Raider Nation?"

how bout "habs fans"

do we really need a name for ourselves like hab nation? Or anything nation?

I've never heard of sens army.

All these names sound corny to me.

While I don't think we need a name for ourselves, I call the sim league I run the Montreal Hockey League, and you can see my MHL logo on the league's site here:

But if you insists, what about Habbies? (based loosely on Trekkies; not that I am one at all)

Habistan is cool and funny..

But I'd vote against naming ourselves...

It's a relatively new thing.

They've got t-shirts and they flash it on the scoreboards at the arena and such.

I think they gave out red bracelets with it on them, like the Lance Armstrong "Livestrong" thing.

We'll see if it sticks or not. I'm guessing not.

Actually I was watching a Red Sox game on NESN this year and they were talking about "Red Sox Nation". They said it was introduced in 2002 or something. So there have been some before it.

I like Habistan as well, it has a nice Borat ring to it Although I couldn't see this catching on any further than this board.
