OT: Ottawa Court Ruling (joke)

Thought this was pretty funny;

Quote:
Ottawa, Canada (AP) -A seven year old boy was at the center of a Ottawa courtroom drama yesterday when he challenged a court ruling over who should have custody of him. The boy has a history of being beaten by his parents and the judge initially awarded custody to his aunt, in keeping with the child custody law and regulations requiring that family unity be maintained to the degree possible. The boy surprised the court when he proclaimed that his aunt beat him more than his parents and he adamantly refused to live with her.

When the judge suggested that he live with his grandparents, the boy cried out that they also beat him. After considering the remainder of the immediate family and learning that domestic violence was apparently a way of life among them, the judge took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to propose who should have custody of him.

After two recesses to check legal references and confer with child welfare officials, the judge granted temporary custody to the Ottawa Senators, whom the boy firmly believes are not capable of beating anyone.

A classic...I've seen it used more with the Maple Leafs though.

Yeah I got an email with the Maple Leafs version. Still made me chuckle, though.

Yeah, that's a good one.

It was making the rounds for the Maple Leafs when they were on that long losing streak this year. (8 games i think?)

I heard it in France too. With the Paris soccer team...

Same as the one with the "newly acquired" dog that yells whenever the team scored a goal but nobody knows what it's doing when the team win...

Still funny, though.

It reminds me of a Kurt Angle promo when there was a WWE show in Vancouver in 2000:

I know that you people in Vancouver doesn't go out often, in fear of being attacked by a moose or a grizzly. Well, not a grizzly, we know that, in Vancouver, the Grizzlies can't beat anybody!
