I am a bit dissapointed. Its the PO's, their 3rd straight away and they had a stretch their with 5 straight penaltys. The thing I am most dissapointed with though is HFD's system and team play.
They are playing like all teams did in the NHL during the 80´s - early 90's. Forecheck hard with 2 players, the 3rd somewhere inbetween. Even when we forchecks well and wins a puck we have nobody to pass to because we have two guys behind the net and one covering a board. With very small means Schonfield, Gernander and Ulfie should have been able to fix this. You either make a decision to forecheck, or sit back a little. Its a must nowadays. That is also a big reasons why we basically get zero counterattacks. We attack the puck hard in the attacking zone, when we do that we loose every chance to attack the puck hard in the neutral zone. Its when you win the puck in the neutral zone you get a chance to counterattack.
I also have a big issue with the passing game. Especially during our first PP's which where horrendous. Our passing game is nonexcisting. Nobody knows what to do. Its always a coincidence when we get a scoring chance, never some plan behind it.
This is my 8 game watching the Wolf Packs this year. Early in the year we had allot of skill, we tried to play smart game but where extremely unorganized. Now Schonfield have been able to get the guys organized, but in a truely horrible way. Exacly like we where playing in NY for 7 years.
With the talent we have down there it would be OK for me if we didn't win because we made misstakes ect. Not because we don't have gameplan.
