Habs & Ex-Habs you do (did) not like!

Hey Habs fans!

Just wondering which Habs, or ex-Habs always got on your nerves for some reason or another?
For me:

Current Hab....Joe Juneau (NEVER liked this guy :moon: )

Ex-Habs....Mike Keane Lyle Odelein
(Donald Brashear, John Leclair)!

I freaking hated Malhakov! I do hate Traverse too, but I almost feel sorry for him for playing so badly.

For the habs, there is many. Audette, Perreault, Brisebois, Ribeiro, Traverse.

Ex Habs, honestly don't like Patrick Roy, also Dainius Zubrus (oh the wasted potential of this guy)

Good thread

OK, here's my list: Thibault, Bergeron, Racicot, Hackett, Leeman, Chorske, Ronan, Lamb, Poulin, Zalapski, Hoglund, Bureau, Darby, Lefebvre.

Current: Audette, Ribeiro, Traverse

Guys I didn't like but later liked: Keane (didn't like him until I saw him absolutely destroy Steve Konroyd with a bodycheck in a Habs-Whalers series); Daigneault (I liked him after he beseeched Habs fans not to trash and loot the city after the 93 win)

Glad you like my NEW THREAD

You did have a lot to say

The only one I do not agree with you is Tom Chorske...I always liked this guy. He won a cup with The Devils, & he gave me his hockey stick once, so...

Mike Keane...boy did I hate, & still hate this guy!

Arrogant son of a gun

What a nice negative post! :p Fits perfectly with the board today.

Let's see....

Gino Odjick (most hated Hab of all time, for me. Despised what he brought to the team. I thought his first game with the Habs, where he senselessly elbowed Housley -- who didn't have the puck -- at center ice, resulting in a concussion for Housley, was one of the more vicious plays I've seen)
Yanic Perreault
Donald Audette
Joe Juneau
Craig Rivet (beginning to dislike his play)
Karl Dykhuis
Martin Rucinsky
Brian 'pro golfer' Savage
Pierre Turgeon
David Wilkie
Darcy Tucker
Turner Stevenson
Sergei Zholtok
Craig Darby
Patrick Poulin
Eric Chouinard
Mariusz Czerkawski

Players I miss...

Mark Recchi
Vlad Malakhov (this team could use a big body presence that can make an outlet pass, no matter how little intensity they have)
Lyle Odelein
Chris Chelios
Kirk Muller
Mike Keane
Scott Thornton
Juha Lind (I thought he could work out, under better circumstances)
Sebastien Bordeleau
Arron Asham
Bill Lindsay (pure minor league talent, but he could hit, good speed, did what he was told. Worked hard every shift. Something the Habs need more of)
PJ Stock

Do any of you know if there is a site where we can read about ex-Habs (NHLers) Where are they now?

I would like to read about some ex-Habs.

I only know about Ed Ronan...he is in the construction business.

Linden, Dackell, Juneau, Blouin, Rivet

Players I miss:

Damphousse, Turgeon, Muller (heh 3 captains), Zholtok, Marc Recchi, Lyle Odelein (god was it fun watching him fight and see him doing his show afterwhile, showing his finger and all.. lol)

Awesome thread indeed.

With Bureau, I never had a major dislike of the guy, but I never really liked him either. He tried hard out there, but he just never grew on me.

Hackett - I didn't like him on a few levels. I never thought of him as a quality NHL starter and thought him too arrogant to call himself one of the "top ten" netminders in the league even after he put up amazingly bad numbers in Chicago. Also, he was a victim of my resentment against any Habs goalie post-Roy. I have now gone through denial and anger, so I think I am now in the acceptance stage. One last thing about Hackett - and it's really petty I know - but I never liked his Habs mask. It had a couple of little boys painted on it - I think it was supposed to represent the boyhood dream of playing hockey and all that, but I found it bordered on molesterish. Sorry, that's just me.

EDIT: BTW, thanks for reminding me of Stevenson. Boy, that guy had the worst stone hands.

Ok, I can understand the Chorske thing if he gave you his hockey stick.

But I'm curious why you think Keane is so arrogant. What did he say or do?

If we were in a contending situation, Mark Recchi would be the first person I would acquire. To have Mark back in Montreal would be a dream. I was not very old when he left, but I was old enough to recognize what a great hockey player he was. I think we all shed a tear when he left.

Players I'd do Without :

Perreault (where's the effort?), Rucinsky (a little too rosy for my liking), Traverse (the man who could do no worse), Zholtok (played well with Petrov and Zubrus, but was mainly a non factor)

Players I Miss :

Linden (who wouldn't want this guy in our line-up today?), Recchi (see above comments), Hackett (classy man who was victim of the youth movement), Thornton (where are you Juha Lind?)

Players I hate/hated:

Blouin
Tucker
Popovic
Rivet
Thibeault

Players I miss:

Malakhov
+ practically every exHab that's with Philly now.. (Recchi, Weinrich, Desjardins)

Hmm.. I'm feeling lazy, so I won't bother giving any explanations.. if anyone wants some, let me know.

edit: oops, forgot to put Traverse in the hate list... but anyways, isn't that a given?

The two little boys were his two sons.

I never liked Russ Courtnall for his many, failed, behind-the-back-passes, and I wish we still had Scott Thornton.

Current player I don't like :
Perreault
Audette
Hainsey (overated and awful defensively)
Theodore (lucky and no technique, no size, etc......)

Border line :
Zednik (can't pass and miss shot 400 times a year)
Ribeiro (only plays a great shift once per 20 shifts)
Dackell (too inconsistant)

Ex-Habs I hate :
Czerkawski (he sucks, that's the bottom line)
Denis Savard (because we lost Chelios for him, damn!!!)
Marc Bureau (plus he's stupid too)
Juha Lind
Karl Dykhuis
Traverse
Barry Richter
Laflamme
Witehall
Berezin

I have no problem giving my reasons.

Perreault - simple fact that I don't like one dimensional, soft, defensive liability type players.

Zubrus - SO MUCH FREAKING TALENT, but he doesn't have the character or something. This guy could probably score 70 points in this league while being great defensively, but is missing something. What is he, 6-4, 220 pounds, skates like the wind and has great offensive instincts. He would have been EXACTLY what the habs need, but....

Roy - I don't know, he just seemed to change when he left Montreal. He also put the habs in a very tough position while trying to trade him. Houle was a bad gm, but who knows what actual value Roy was worth because storming off the bench saying he has played his last game in a habs uni couldn't of helped. Really, I guess it is his ego that got blown up when he went to Colorado. He just seemed to be a different person on and off the ice.

Anyhow, I will add some of the guys I miss. Mark Recchi, Mike Keane, oddly Stefan Lebeau, and Turner Stevenson (big guy, no hands, but gave his all every shift). The guy I miss the most is Kirk Muller, heart and soul guy plus had the skills to back it up. True meaning of a "good ole Canadian boy"

Ex-Habs I hate

Igor Ulanov
Darcy Tucker
Chris Chelios
Dainus Zubrus
Trevor Linden

there`s a few more guys I`m missing but off the top of my head I really dislike those guys. I don`t have a problem with Linden now but hated him on the Habs (don`t ask me why )

Current Habs I hate

uhhh....hmm I don`t really have a problem with any current habs, I'm not too high on Hossa or Zednik but the rest are fine in my books.

Guys I miss

Damphousse, Recchi, Corson, Roy are the biggest names for obvious reasons. I know there`s alot of people out there who arent too high on Corson right now but he was always one of my favourites.

Slow, terrible skater, wasn't a consistent player, lacked intensity on too many shifts for my taste. He simply wasn't the player in Montreal that he's become (to some extent) in NJ. He was prone to bad penalties and wasn't all that good defensively or along the boards.

Frankly, I thought he was a wasted roster spot.

Easy there, my friend

Let's face it, Stevenson wasn't the player in Montreal that he has become with New Jersey. In Montreal, he looked like he was skating in cement, his hands were definitely cement, and you wondered sometimes if he even had a cement-head, what with his propensity to take bad penalties. In Jersey, he has chipped in with a timely goal here and there and has done a better job in putting in an honest effort on a more consistent basis.

I hated or still hate Sylvain Turgeon (1 of the worst trades possible, Claude Lemieux for Sylvain Turgeon????? NOT!!!), Donald Brashear, Lyle Odelein, Gino Odjick, I'm sure there are more but I guess I don't hate them that much if I can't think of them~lol

I don't currently hate any players on the team now

I miss CLAUDE LEMIEUX

Players that I am glad they are gone.....

Desjardins, the most over rated D ever. King of the suicide pass.

Recchi, everyone here seems to love him but....I hated the fact that he could NEVER beat any defenseman with an inside move, only on the outside. But the primary reason....whenevr he got knocked on his butt (driving to the outside no doubt) he would start crying to the ref for a call, selfish and not responsible. He should be going top speed back on D. Nooooo, he had to complain to the ref and take himself out of the play.

Maybe he was trying to draw a penalty, but he was absolutely being irresponsible. His 20 goals a season would be nice though...

Odjick, take your glooves off to fight or stay home if you are injured.

Corson, tie your helmet down, dummy. This guy had a beautiful wife and still he would be hunting for cherry pie in the warm up. EGO SUPREME.

Bottomline....I hate ANY player that is more preoccupied by his stats or his look more then the good of the team.

Wow, that felt good getting it off my chest.
