Greatest Defenceman of All Time #6

Since Potvin is winning easily we will move onto #6. This one I think will be a lot closer. I am voting for Robinson and add King Clancy.

#2.Shore(37.00%)
#3.Harvey(52.33%)
#4.Bourque(54.84%)

The top five has gone as expected on all fronts. Only two things surprised me: the close victory for Eddie Shore over Ray Bourque (I expected it to be close, but I thought Shore would edge out Doug Harvey) and the early addition of Scott Stevens. There are still a couple defencemen not added who are better than Stevens.

Larry Robinson. Very close, but I think he's a little better than Leonard "Red" Kelly. Add King Clancy. (Got him in all-time draft).

I think some of these results will be quite close, with some vote splits that will enable other players to come up the middle. I think the wide spread vote shifts are also finished.

I'd vote for Red Kelly, but the honest truth is that I never saw him play.

So, I picked Big Bird.

Add Pronger or Borje Salming.

Agreed. MacInnis, in my opinion, was better than Scott Stevens.

MacInnis won a Norris Trophy, won a Conn Smythe, had quite a few All-Star Teams, won a Stanley Cup, and won an Olympic Gold Medal.

He did it all.

I picked Kelly.

Imagine how many Norris Trophies he would have won if not for Harvey, and if not for the fact that the Norris Trophy only came around in the middle of Kelly's career?

He would have loads of Norris Trophies if not for these two things.

I agree about the vote margins. We won't see any more landslides. Vote for Robinson this time out, and I will again vote to add Clancy.

I picked Pronger over Macinnis because of the MVP Award. But for me, it's damn close.
