Lines?

now that smirnov is in cincy, what will babcock switch the lines to?
i for one am glad to see him sent down, i was tired of seeing lupul on the 4th. so heres how i hope the lines are.

chistov- feds- Nieds

prospal- Rooch- Lupul

andymac- krog- sykora

Johnson- phalsson- Burnett

anybody else have any ideas. Switching sykora and Lupul wouldnt bother me. but IMO, sykora and andymac have played good together. and if smirnov did good with a chace with Rooch and prospal. why not give lupul a shot there? if it doesnt work out switch him and lupul. oh i put phalsson on the 4th cause i think he's sucked a$$ so far. krog has been better, not much, but better, and put him with better linemates and lets see what he can do. and he wouldnt have the pressure of being on the 1st line.

Pahlsson hasn't been playing very well...but since Krog was scratched last game I think its more likely for Krog to be back on the fourth line. I don't like Babcock putting Johnson on the third line either...

I would enjoy seeing lines such as these...but none of it matters if everyone stays on the perimeter all night

Lupul - feds- Nieds

Prospal- Rooch-Sykora

chistov- krog- andymac

Johnson- phalsson- Burnett

I like this one. Much better than babs lines for the last game.

Put Ward in for Burnett. He isn't as much of a liability on the ice. To have a guy play one shift - get in a scrap and then sit on the bench for the rest of the game is a waste of a roster spot. At least Ward can give you 8 minutes of ice time and still scrap if you need to.

Agreed...I just copied the rest from the 1st post after I changed the players around...

Why doesn't Anaheim play Chistov more? 3rd line ice doesn't seem good enough for a guy who supposedly is their great prospect and Kariya's heir apparent. Is this guy going to break through and play on the top line consistently.

These have been the lines I've wanted all year. Lupul deserves the first line shot, and will probably start becoming more and more of a Calder favorite. Nieds can probably teach him as well as Feds. I really like the Prospal-Rucchin-Sykora line, and I figure it'll be good in the coming weeks. Pahlsson has only been half decent, so Krog deserves the third line spot, with Cheesy and Andy Mac. Pahlsson can do good hopefully with Burnett/Ward and Johnson.

Well the lines tonight are
Pahlsson-Feds-Sykora
Chistov-Rucchin-Nieds
Prospal-McDonald-Lupul
Krog-Johnson-Ward

Babcock has us all fooled, although I like those lines on paper.

Yeah. Chistov's pretty much Cullen. He's fallen for no reason 3 times in the first period.

Ward is the best. Tkachuk's an ass, but that's no reason to cross-check him in the head out of the blue.

Ahlers is right, that was Giguere's best period. 19 saves, many were very good.

That pretty much describes it. At least we got a point out of it. As long as they improve and rack up points in losses I guess its a positive but they should have had 2 points tonight which is dissapointing. I didnt see much of the game except for the 2nd half of the 3rd and OT so I cant really say how they played.

They played pretty well. Jiggy only made one mistake, and since these guys couldn't score in the red light district in amsterdam, it cost us a point.

The power play looks dangerous but is obviously not clutch. Where the hell is The Man? I think his ice time was second only to Havelid's. Carney looked good.

Nieds, McDonald, Carney, Sauer, Ozo, Havelid, and Giguere all played really well.

Nobody really had a bad game, except maybe Krog who couldn't handle the puck at all, same with Fedorov. Sykora wasn't a factor. Rooch is still hurting. Prospal stll skated like my grandma, but managed to make a pest of himself. The Ducks created a lot of pressure and withstood a lot of pressure. It was a vintage-type game, except there was no clutch goal and Jiggy let that one weak one in.

That was a very good road game they played, and the best effort we've seen from them in a while. But damn, if the offense can't put up more than one goal a game it just doesn't matter.

what the hell is with Lupul only playing 11 minutes, and chistov playing more then him? cmon! this guy was on fire at the start of the season, when he was playing with the top lines and more ice time.

Pahlsson has been one of the best defensive forwards all year as well as invaluable on the PK...he shouldn't be a guy you count on to pop in regular goals....there was one play he made where he back checked and knocked off someone who was open getting a cross ice pace right in front of Jiggy, if Pahlsson's not there back checking, boom Ducks don't even see OT...

Good to see Ward stick up for J.S.

O.C. Register:

Tkachuk appeared to not even belong in the game to score the winning goal after he speared left wing Lance Ward in the abdomen with his stick 5:54 into the third period.

Referee Bob Langdon assessed Tkachuk a double-minor penalty although rule 86 in the NHL rule book calls for a major and a game misconduct for making contact with a spear.

A double minor is to be imposed for a spear that does not make contact.

Ward reported soreness in the abdominal area, as well as sore feelings.

"That's a dirty play," Ward said. "That shouldn't happen."

Ducks defenseman Todd Simpson and Ward traced roots of the incident to the first period, when Ward took a minor penalty for roughing Tkachuk in front of the Duck's net.

"He slashed Jiggy, I punched him, and he spears me?" Ward said, planning to remember Tkachuk's handiwork.

"Absolutely," Ward said. "I know we play them on the 16th."

He didn't slash Jiggy. At least not on that play. He was just standing in the crease.
