Fleischmann! (Mink) 4-0

How pissed off do Pirates fans have to be at these players for waiting until this year to put it all together?

5-0 Beech (Mink, Fleischmann)! Beechie fan faints.

New goalie lets one in within about... 21 seconds.

Four PP goals for Hershey.

Sweet! Very happy to have tickets to the games this weekend!

About the Pirates fans, no kidding, but Cassivi's goaltending and Boudreau's coaching, plus the extra year of experience is making a difference.

Will be interesting to read JR's comments about the game tomorrow

Still seems weird to me that they have longer to sign the 04s vs the 05s, but has to do with pre new CBA stuff

Sounds like the Bears got lucky to get the PP; but turnovers and Portland putting on pressure
edit: typo
Woohoo! Awesome. Yunkov update is online.

State vs Saunders, doesn't sound like much happened

Who has State been paired with in the game? I know it was State and Schultz just now, but I assume that was because it is 5-0; still more than 11 minutes to go

5-on-3 for the Bears upcoming.

They put the Fleischmann-Beech-Mink line out there, and the game could turn ugly.

FYI, Vogel said he was told the dates for the Russians are not set yet because of the lack of Russian participation with the IIHF agreement, so depending on when that gets done and what gets decided, teams could have longer to sign Russian players

Robitaille takes Zenon off the ice... man, he's good at what he does. Little rat, but effective.

I would have kept Mink, Fleischmann and Beech on the bench, but they are out there

this is getting really ugly in the stands, in the penalty boxes, and on the ice

before I forget, hopefully, Kondriatev is ok; I hate hearing about guys getting injured

If you'd suggested prior to this game, with that defense, that the Bears might record a shutout, I'd have called you nuts. Impressive.

Okay so State and Konopka fought... might Konopka get a suspension?

Agreed; Cassivi held them in this game when the Pirates were buzzing and frustrated the Pirates; Cassivi's third shutout of the playoffs; first time Pirates shutout during this postseason

Konopka's unbelievable 24 game point streak ends; Kane now has points in 7 straight

If Kochan is ready, seems to me he will get a start for the Pirates

Go Bears!

edit: silly typos

Drake - I just read your Yunkov write-up; it is not clear to me that these pre new CBA guys will re-enter the draft - I thought they would become free agents; I will try to research this; also, what I heard is that they may get an extra year to sign the guys if Russia signs the IIHF agreement this summer, but no one really knows anything other than that the expiration dates don't apply to them right now.

on a sidenote, I met Yunkov's agent at the draft and had an extended conversation with him so I have tried to follow Yunkov's progress; nice write-up

Back to the Bears' game, my audio died in the last minute; what happened with the too many men on ice and the fight?
