Just a blurb at the end of this Miami Herald article, but Bednar's agents have apparently asked that he be traded:

Personally I don't blame him at all. Although he hasn;t been great, he's not bad, and on the right team he could be a great 2nd line player.

Who can blame the guy? Here we have a former leading scorer in the Finish Elite League getting miniscule minutes with grinders for linemates...when he's not getting scratched of course.

This team desperately needs scoring so what has our braintrust done? Misuse and alienate a natural scorer.

We've got great asset management, just great.

Actually, you can't only blame Keenan. It was Dudley who made the decision to put Bednar on waivers. Odd move that I never agreed with.

Bednar has been given plenty of chances, granted he hasn't had great linemates, but he's had 2nd line duties here and there. He hasn't produced as expected, though he netted plenty of assists last season. He's def a set-up man with talent. Maybe it's because a finesse player like him needs some grittier scorers alongside him, which the Panthers lack. But the Panthers aren't the only team without a Bertuzzi-type player...

I also blame Keenan. Poor management of his talent - that applies to almost all the team, not just Bednar. Keenan's supposed to be a motivator? This team plays not very motivated on most nights! If management doesn't realize that these players aren't responding to the Keenan methods, well management had better get new players or get a coach before this thing gets uglier than it already is...

Some coaches utilize players to match their skills. Some, like Keenan, do not and expect every player to conform to their style. Dudley put him on waivers probably because he felt he would at least be given a chance to play in the AHL as opposed to what he's doing now. I hope Jaro gets his wish because he's got a lotta talent and deserves to have a shot where he's utilized correctly. One thing that I've read about San Antonio's coach Steve Ludzik is that he won't have players conform to his style of play (primarily defensive). This is what we need at the NHL level. I'm not suggesting that Ludzik is a good replacement for Keenan but this type of attitude would be better for this team. Playing to the strengths of the players in the organization seems to be smarter than making them all try to play one style like Keenan wants. Here's the quote from Ludzik which appeared in a Palm Beach Post article:
