im thinking this might be a good game for the b's to pick up their fist home win. last i checked the sharks dont playa trapping style so that problem thats been hurting the b's vs nj, mont, car, shouldnt be an issue.

go b's, potvin should get the nod, but i think he's gonna have to be solid, the sharks will come in waves.

murray has to score or something will have tobe done (change up the lines or something) joes passing talents cant be wasted, atleast knuble is finishing!

look for joe to have a strong game and maybe get a few calls, cause the b's are finally at home. i dont care what anyone says, the home team always seems to get the calls.

look for mcarthy to fight parker. or possibly mclaren.

look most of all for a bruins win!

Excellent job as always. One (minor) thing - you have the game day as Saturday November 6. You meant Thursday.

I think it is time for Potvin to take the reigns as the number 1 goalie until he falters, if that means playing 5-7 games in a row so be it.

For those interested in the Sharks...with me out here in the Bay area and all, I follow them pretty closely. They entered this season depending on offense from young players and question marks like Nils Ekman, Niko Dimitrakos and Milan Michalek. None has really been able to come through and Milan went down with a long term injury (knee). So while their defense is pretty solid, they have been struggling for goals. Aside from that, Ron Wilson singled out two players who need to crank it up, Patrick Marleau and Mike Rathje. Both guys have critical roles but too often have been invisible.

On the other hand, the guys who have been delivering the goods are Alyn McCauley, Scott Thornton and Brad Stuart. They had a nasty game vs the Canes a week back that seemed to wake them up. Scott Thornton turned around and belted Bob Boughner for a cheap hit, and he's been playing good since.

The Sharks are playing in NJ tonight, meaning they will be traveling and playing back to back games when they face the B's. While that sounds great, a 4 day layoff for the Bruins isn't always a good thing either. Maybe the fact that the Bruins got embarassed by the Pens in their OTL will give them motivation to come out gangbusters...

Should be a good game. Don't expect the Sharks to back down though, they will play defensively but will be in your face too.

Didn't realize that the Sharks played tonight against the NJ Devils... the Devs won, 3-2, in OT.

We should see Toskala tomorrow, who beat us last season...

I'd like to say we should have the upperhand as far as rest goes tomorrow, but the last time a team came in on the backend of back to back games, we lost 2-0...

Get the monkey off your backs, boys, and put some pucks in the back of the net

a 5-1 win would be nice tomorrow, especially on national TV

The game is on TSN. The Bruins have a perfect record of 3wins in 3 games with 2 shutout this year on TSN.... They beat Dallas- Colorado and MTL....
Hope the streak continue...
After the last 2 bad games, the boys need to wake up and start playing better.
i would say 4-1 Boston with a pair of goal by Murray who finally puts some puck in the net!!!.... at least i hope.....

Tonight the offense comes alive at home.

Tomorrow no one pops out of the woodwork suggesting we strip Joe of the captaincy.

Call it a prediction.

The Sharks don't have much offensive power, but they are young and in 80% of their games they do play hard.

It is difficult for the Sharks to play a back to back against 2 good teams in New Jersey and Boston.

They used the trap heavily against New Jersey and got a point on the road. Look for more of the same, but keep in mind - they do play very hard.

Korolyuk played well yesterday. He may be breaking ot of a funk.
McCauley has 5 goals, but he has about 20 good missed chances as well.

Look for the Thornton-Ricci-Cheechoo line to provide consistent offense(this is our 3rd line) while our other lines will just come in waves.

The sharks create many chances, and often outshot oponents, but don't finish well.

potvin has been lights out lately...i don't think we should turn the net over to him, but if he continues to stand on his head, we may have no choice but to give him more starts. not a bad problem to have though

i think ricci has been playing with thornton and cheechoo lately. and he's been lights out on faceoffs. i'm sure wilson will try to match ricci and cousin scott on big joe. oh, and marco sturm is dangerous- i think he's the guy we need to keep an eye on.

About McClaren:

He was talked about as though he was very good, but he hasn't played too well. I am not sure why. But maybe he needs time to gel or something. What did you guys think of him when he played for Boston?
What can he do?

B's get to match up as it is a home game.

I'd expect Sully to juggle lines most of the night to try and match up the speed of the Sharks although if Zino/Sammy and Rolston/Axe are still together we should be looking good. We will need to do some aggressive backchecking to help cover our D as the sharks have some serious speed on forward that can make life miserable for flatfooted D men.

Still see the B's on top 4-2 - but who knows!

I was never a huge fan of Kyle McLaren.

When he's on, he's a very nasty hitter who can fire the puck in from the point. But when he's off, he can be downright horrible, and always had injury problems.

I'll never forget a play he didn't make in Edmonton, when the puck rolled to him in his own end and he muffed it so badly that he put it out in front of Andrew Raycroft. Bill Guerin came flying in and blasted it past the kid before he even knew what was happening. That was McLaren at his worst, although when he was at his best, you had to love his big hits and tough style.

I just never felt he was consistent enough to warrant the adulation he got from a lot of folks. And, when he demanded out, and then took the two-way contract cop-out (boo-hoo Kyle), I lost whatever respect I had for him. It's not like the Bruins would've sent him down if he PERFORMED, but MOC played into his hands by giving him an EXCUSE and McLaren played it up to the tee. Meh. F- McLaren. I could honestly care less about him at this point.

Boston had been waiting for him to "gel" here since he came up. He came in as a monster of a kid and every body expected him to fine tune his game and settle in to a nice #1 D-man some day. But it never seemed to happen with him. It may have been the injuries but I think it has more to do with his mindset.
