Kingston To Build New Arena,

The City of Kingston website has announced that the city is building a new large venue entertainment centre in downtown Kingston, and the primary tenants will be the Kingston Frontenacs. Construction is expected to start in July, and the doors are going to be opened in December of 2007. The Frontenacs lease with the M-Centre ends after the 06-07 season, but they'll probably have to play there for the first couple of months of the 07-08 season. The team is considering to bid for the 2008 Memorial Cup. Thats huge news for the club, if this arena fell through, the 06-07 season would've probably been the last for the Frontenacs.

That is very good news for Kingston -- a new facility downtown will be great, and God knows, the old barn wasn't going to last forever.
