A huge overpay like a guy like Tim Connolly or one of the young D-men. Can't see it happening. Doubt we'd simply swap Cory Cross for an equal sorta player, just wouldn't make sense I don't think. Cross doesn't get much mention in trade talk.
I'd settle for Ryan Miller. You guys might have to throw in a pick to even it out though.
OK -> Note the sarcasm!!!
Whoever said overpay was right though - he's too valuable (Am I saying this about Cory ****** Cross??? Oh my) to us to trade right now for anything less than an overpay. Right now, he's too busy fixing Brewer's mistakes to be dealt...sorry

No kidding! Who would have thought Cross would have made himself invaluable to this team? I think we were all calling for a trade or upgrade at the beginning of year, but he's been a steady and safe (if unspectacular) d-man for Edmonton. Not that he's untouchable by any stretch of the imagination, but he's definitely made himself useful for Edmonton.
Why trade Cross? He is cheap and effective. Not only is he incredibly reliable in his own zone , he has put up points totals since his arrival to Edmonton the likes of which he has never done before. He is a Lloydminster kid with an apparent desire to remain near the border city. Trade him for what? His value is always high to the team he plays for - an experienced 4-6 d-man with good experience but his trade value is nonexistent. These are the guys that have begun to shine in Edmonton. Look at recent history, Ulanov was aweful yet he resurected a decent career in Edmonton, Staios was tossed around and cheap and now he is our most consistent blue liner, and now Cross another steal and huge to boot. Keep the guys that are helping the cause and look to move the dead wood.
