Trade talk @ ESPN Insider

It's an insider article which you have to sign up for but Jim Wilkie writes that since the crowds haven't turned up at the GEC to see a winning team, don't expect much. Maybe a $1-2 mil type player. Speculation that Poile might part with some prospects. Not much else there on us.

I can't seem to locate the article online, but Nashville City Paper published one this morning called "Rent-a-Pred a Possibility."

Here's the "Preds wish list" according to this article:

Jeff O'Neill
Valerie Bure
Adam Oates (what the heck?)
Bob Boughner
Todd Simpson
Sean Hill
Alexei Zhitnik

I fail to see this situation:

Poile: I've got a deal lined up that can help the team make the playoffs this year.
Leopold: Well, we would do it, but since our fans haven't been coming......

Leopold can't be that dumb

On the ch2 sports at 10pm, Trotz was talking and he said he told Poile that if he could get a trade that would significantly improve our team and chances to make the playoffs, then make the trade. But that if it was only going to bring a marginal difference then not to do it because he liked the team we have now.

my top three "wants"

1. Steve Sullivan
2. Viktor Kozlov
3. Geoff Sanderson(the guy is a Pred-killer...would be nice to have him on our side)

Watching Sullivan last night, I had the same thought. He is the type of player we need.

I really don't think pullys going to trade sully with zhamnov going. He'll get the C after zhamnovs gone, keep it warm until bells ready to wear it. Just out of interest what would the preds be willing to give up to get sully?

I doubt he'd be available either. What would the Hawks greatest need be?

Their short on NHL caliber RW's period! They need a stud D-man,but i'd take a 2-4 d-man who can clear the slot and make an outlet pass + chip in say 15-20 point's a year. A #1 center. Most teams need these kind of players and it's just wishful thinking on my part.
