Peter Forsberg the Best Swedish player ever...

http://www.canoe.ca/Slam031104/nhl_col-ap.html

I'm surprised Naslund didn't make the A-list

Well, he did score a gold medal for SWE way back when. Getting put on a stamp as well...that'll do it for you.

1. Forsberg
2. Salming
3. Lidstrom
4. Naslund(It took him a long time to finally break out or I would have put him higher)

Lidtrsom is no doubt an unreal player. But forsberg has reached legendary status in Sweden for good obvious reasons. Peter is the best

Zackley...

For that reason alone, in this instance Lidstrom doesn't have jack squat on Forsberg.

Forsberg is the best player in the game right now, so of course he is the best Swede. Did Naslund win them an Olympic Gold medal in an overtime shootout? Lidstrum is the best D-man from Sweden but Forsberg is definetly the best player.

1994 Gold Medal
1995 Calder Trophy
1996 Stanley Cup
2001 Stanley Cup
2003 Art Ross Trophy
2003 Hart Trophy
At least three first team all-star selections

1992 World Championships Gold Medal
1998 World Championships Gold Medal
1998 World Championships Best Forward

Forsberg is the best player in the world. That's a fact. Did Lidstrom just win the Hart and Art Ross, as well as the Bud Light Plus-minus with the highest plus-minus of any forward for a decade???

I was watching the Avs/Blackhawks game on tv the other night.

Forsberg is a really good player, but I have to admit- that guys goes down easier than anyone else in the league. If he wants to beat out the diving rap, he has to stay on his feet and stop flopping all over the ice every time he is touched.

No disrespect to Forsberg or Lidstrom, but I have to give it to Salming personally. I've read some stories of what he dealt with coming over to North America in the mid-70's when Europeans were just getting a real chance to play in the NHL and the Don Cherry mentality was widespread, in the media and the players. Maybe Forsberg and Lidstrom are better players in some aspects, but neither had to face the same adversity Salming had to just to play in the league. As such, I have to give it to Salming (no slouch considering he's a HOFer in his own right anyway).

I watched the Avs/Hawks game too. I thought Peter played quite well. Several of the times he was diving after the PUCK so the other guy wouldn't get it. Another time a Hawk took out his feet. Another time he was trying to pick up his stick. That Hawk pimple-face-whats-his-name was completely cheap all game.

I have the game on tape if anyone dares to accuse Peter the Great of diving. I suggest you NOT do that.

As much as I like Pete, he does dive from time to time, ALTHOUGH I didn't see him dive at all during that Hawks game.
