They damn better be excited with their team nearing the cup finals.

If it was our Habs in their place I'd sing the freakin anthem naked on the streets.

As would I, and I'm nowhere near Montreal, so I'd probably get arrested without them knowing what the hell I was doing it for.

Well done Oilers.

Bell centre isn't half loud enough when the anthems are being played. And yes I'm talking during the play-offs.

Well, we can hear more "Go Habs Go" than fans singing the anthem. I personnaly sing along everytime I'm there, and I go at least 10 times/season.

Same here Clumsyhab, same here.

To be honest when I'm there I feel like everybody is singing, mostly because i'm usually screeming senseless, as are the people next to me.

It's on TV that you really notice that not too many people are singing. Or maybe they just do it when I'm there?

Oh well, It's getting late...

God love Joey Moss!! If he doesn't get into the Hall of Fame it would be a travesty.

This is something you will NEVER see in Montreal. The national anthem doesn't really mean something for us (in general). In my opinion, it shouldn't even be in a hockey game in the first place... The players on the ice are from so many different countries and it is a pro team, not a national team, there's a huge difference.

The singer? He was atrocious, that's probably why he stopped singing

Hats off to Edmonton and their fans. Edmonton have done some great things this playoff run:
  • Knocked off Detroit
  • Cheered and sang the American Anthem after the Canadian Anthem was booed in SJ
  • Anthem sing in Game 3

I like the type of hockey Edmonton is playing, and they are showing the passion Canadians have for hockey. Hats off. My only wish is that it was Montreal in their place.

Joey Moss is the handicapped team trainer that was best buddies with Gretzky... They flashed over him when the crowd was singing the anthem, and he was belting it out, along with the rest of the crowd. Putting his heart in it... The guy is an absolute team guy, who has added moxy in the Edmonton dressing room for over 25 years. No doubt he should be a HOF'er, the HOF would be honoured to have Joey Moss's passion instilled in it.

Furthermore, the singer... He's the best anthem guy in the league... Tell me the Oilers weren't ready to play their hearts out for that crowd after hearing that.... People at home had chills running down their spine... Imagine being an Oiler, who's crowd is so rampant, that was a pure adrenaline rush... Heck, if any singer can get your blood going, and get you primed for a game, he's worth his bucks to me

Kudos to Edmonton... That was good soul patrollin that they di before game three... Anybody who doesnt think Edmonton is a hard place to play against... have to be eating their words now... Cause that is damn well intimidating.

If he can choose moments to psyche up the hometeam, he's got my vote. Personally, I dont care if he can sing or not, it's the fact that the team got a elevation from the crowd, who ate up the anthem when he rose that microphone in the air... That is showmanship.
29 other singers can sing... But most of them have an ego that would never allow them to let the crowd take over the show as this guy did that night... When it counted

If the habs had a singer in game 3 that did this... the habs might've still been there

Well if anyone just got a chance to tune into the Game 4 anthems, not only did they once again sing the Canadian Anthem to the point where Paul Loiraux made them finish, but the Edmonton Fans even sang the American Anthem!!! Talk about class and crazy fans!

We'll never know.
Our crowd is loud, but the singing of the national anthem BEFORE the puck was even present on the ice, well, that typically will make players jump out of their skin.

I dont know why so many fans have a hard time believing this CAN elevate the team's game...

Maybe because half our team is made of european players and they couldnt give a damn about the Canadian anthem?

It's not about the anthem... It's about the team. The team could be 1/2 euro, but I am sure they can respect the passion that the crowd protrays every game... heck even Bryzgalov was impressed with the performance

I've seen players get psyched over noise before... and not even to mention many of these Euro's have many Canadian friends (a) on the team, or even (b) where they live... it's a beautiful thing.
