I have never been a Habs fan but I am a collector of older cards and when the chance came up to own the highest graded Ken Dryden Rookie anywhere on earth, I had to have it.....and this is from the more prestigious OPC Set.....and I got it for a steal at the Mastro Auction last month....3500 US......people in the card collecting industry were shocked at what I got it for and I can tell you I was willing to pay much much higher for this card of one of the greatest goalies of all time........

dang...nice grab. I'd be really nervous with stuff worth that much money lol. I'd keep checking on it. "Is it still where I placed it!...is it still there!!! it was there 2 hours ago....but I have to check if I didnt accidently missplaced it!"

Well Shaolin, I guess its worth what people will pay for it and I have been offered more for it then I just payed.....if you find a couple of high bidders on ebay that are hab fans or just hockey fans, a player of the caliber of Dryden's greatness, it could be many thousands....

The future shall tell....

Beckett is well known indeed but they also grade what is called 'Sheet' cards which are somewhat looked down in the Card Collecting Hobby..........Sheet cards are simply cards that are cut with today's technology thus making them nearly perfect.........

PSA avoids these cards so when you see a card like mine, it is the card as it originally was over 35 years ago and not tampered with by modern day technology...ie Laser cutting processes used on Sheet cards..........Sheet cards refers to before cards are actually cut into individual cards........You can still buy sheets of old cards if you pay attention to auctions out there.....they can go for a fortune of course......

If you go to any Sports Card Collecting forms, you can find quickly regardless of what sport, that PSA always sells the highest and with good reason........that isn't to say Beckett doesn't have some nice stuff and is a decent company but they are clearly recognized as being a runner up to PSA.....

That's too much money for me to pay for a card....regardless of condition.

A couple of summers back I had a bunch of Steve Yzerman's rookie cards....send them away to be graded....then sold them on Ebay....made $1,200

Btw, this PSA thing...it's not just for sports cards. if any of you guys are familiar with Magic: The Gathering, PSA grading is ALSO done for those cards. So this laser new technology thing applies to them too.

Just an example, i've seen a PSA of 10 on a Black Lotus (MTG's most expensive card) sell for 3000$US....
