Oilers won against the favorite coming into the playoffs.
Then they beat two of the hottest teams since the olympic break.

I think the Canes or the Sabres will have a pretty tough time winning the cup.

ps Edmonton vs Buffalo series would be amazing hockey...

Please don't do it!

As a Canadiens fan in Edmonton, I just can't get myself to go to Whyte Avenue. I've invested so much emotion in cheering for the Habs that I can't possibly revel in celebrating the win of another team. Tonight, I watched the game with all my Oiler friends, and remained neutral while everybody celebrated around me. It was a weird feeling, and honestly, it kind of felt sad, considering that we haven't had the same type of celebration in so long. I'm telling everybody who tells me that I'm missing out on Whyte Avenue, that as soon as the Canadiens clinch a spot in the Cup Finals, I'm buying a plane ticket to Montreal.

That party will trump anything on Whyte Avenue, I can be certain of that (I hope anyway )

I sure hope that players AND management will learn a thing or two about winning from this year's Oilers team.

BTW, I was wondering, Edmonton finished 8th in the west. How many 8th-seeded teams won the Cup? And if so, which was the last one?

in the 1st round i predicted the oilers would lose...
in the 2nd round i predicted the oilers would lose...
in the 3rd round i yet again predicted the oilers would lose...

to keep the "good luck" on their side i'm going to on purpose choose either Buffalo or Carolina to win the stanley cup....

go oilers!!!

If Carolina wins the cup it would be the second time in two seasons where the team that eliminated us would go on to win the Stanley Cup by beating an underdog/cinderella Canadian team from Alberta in the finals. Like Tampa, it would be the first championship for a team that many consider to exist in an "untraditional" market.

With that said, Go Edmonton!
