I'm really surprised about signing Lacassee. I'm pretty sure this confirms that Heino is not coming over this Summer, and that Michaud won't be retained.

Does this mean no Korneev?

Lacasse is 6'3" and only 165 lbs.... he brought is team back from losing 3-0 against Gatineau to tie the series 3-3. It's hard to be sure from the juniors how a goaltender will turn.... Lacasse may only need a coach!

Additinonaly, his stats are better than Roy's ones, altought Lacasse played less games.

I believe Michaud's contract is up this Summer.

Lacassee will find himself as an AHL back-up or ECHL starter IMO.

Glad to see Stewart signed, as far as Lacasse, goalies take longer to develop, and if the Habs plan on stocking Hamilton with two goalies next season and Danis makes the big squad, the team's going to need some depth at the ECHL level.

I'm not surprised that Dulac-Lemelin wasn't signed. He really looked brutal at the Habs' rookie camp as far as skating ability goes, and his legs made Patrick Traverse's look like Scott Stevens', skinniest I've ever seen.

Good to see Stewart signed. I've been able to see a lot of him in Peterborough and he's got what it takes.

Great to hear Stewart got signed, I was worried that his lack of scoring in the playoffs might cause him not to be signed. I could see him in Hamilton on the bottom pairing but I could also see him in the ECHL since he would get more ice time there.

Lacasse I am really surprised to see him get signed. You can never have enough goalies, so I'm glad for him he's signed. I don't know if they will send him back to Drummondville next year but Long Beach would be my guess.

It was such a shock that I didn't even bother to create a profile for Lacasse at my site and even passed on watching him a couple times this year due to thinking he would not be signed. So I went and created a small profile on him and even put together a little article on the signing

Does that mean Korneev and Gleed are reentering the draft?

1- they are too old
  • North American players born between January 1, 1986 and September 15, 1988 are eligible for selection in all rounds.
  • Non-North American players born between January 1, 1985 and September 15, 1988 are eligible for selection in all rounds.

2-Korneev would be UFA if not signed

3-Gleed would be UFA too if not signed, like Dan(montreal) said, the date for NCAAers is something like August 15th and not June 1st
