yeah....someone cheap (not more than 1 - 1,5) for one year....maybe Lindros, maybe Allison

or maybe give Eriksson or Jokinen a shot @ center. They've both played center in the past

I'd prefer Jokinen or maybe some free agent center, like Morrison. But it would probably be someone cheap.

Hopefully not Arnott, mainly for my own reasons and not why everybody else doesn't want him, which is really monetary reasons.

its not just monetary reasons for me but also the fact that itll take a long term contract. Arnott is what, 31 now? I just dont see him as the type of player whos going to be all that great or even good as he starts getting older.

roenick for 1 yr for $1.5mil:

no state income tax, gets to play with USA pals, brings vocal leadership, has something to prove, injuries are a concern but could rebound like brindamour & selanne

alyn mccauley: 3yrs for $3.5-$4mil

moves kapanen to 4th line where belongs, kills penalties, 3rd liner that has some pop, had off year but respected around the league, fits tipp's mold, injuries a concern as well but brings versatility

there are some concerns with both players, but IMO the stars should sign the pair.... makes ott expendable and is cost effective (as compared to a long term deal for arnott)...gives the stars real options for next offseason when guerin, niinimaa, lehtinen, and barnes come off the books....to me jokinen doesn't have the d-zone coverage or foot speed necessary to play center

It would be really nice if Lindgren was able to stick as the #2 center, but I don't think you can expect a 19 year old to just cross the pond and be able to do it. Besides, the Stars will have to make a decision on that well before he gets here for training camp.
