I'm sorry but what has Lupal, Whitney, and Upshall done more than Bouchard?

And why is Harding still in the second round. Could be a later first rounder with his numbers.

That was the actual order of the 2002 draft.

I have yet to make my "re-do" list.

So, if a player has a decent (but not spectacular rookie season), they are all the sudden better than a player who didn't make his team out of camp? It's a rather large conclusion to make. PMB has done more than those 3 so far, but an NHL career isn't measured over the first 60 games. I mean, why not say Lasse Pirjeta in front of PMB, he's done more.

Yeah, that was the original draft order. But, I'd take Lupul and Upshall over PMB, though. Lupul looks like a future Rocket Richard winner, and Upshall looks like one of the best two-way forces the NHL will see in a couple years. Whitney, though, is not better than him.

True Bouchard will never win a Rocket Richards award but I see him more like Sakic or Forsberg, dishing out a ton of assists to Gaborik, Dupuis, and anyone else on his line. He has such great stick handling abilities to go along with his amazing vision that he's pretty dang good.

That draft was so much of a crap shoot after the top 7 picks that its really hard to re-do it now. Based on current performance Matt Lombardi is a 1st Rounder.

Right now, the only thing I'd change is having JayBo going #1, but we all know why he didn't.

Though Jay-Boom should've gone first, Rick Nash is looking better and better. I just think he may become the better of the two. Pitkanen and Lehtonen haven't even played yet, so either could prove to be better than them.

Pitkanen's played like 13 games in Philadelphia and leads all rookies in +/-.

Well to be honest, He'd be number 31. Was the last cut off the list I made. I just think that there are some better prospects, all the while it's very close. Cam Ward is an excellent goalie, don't get me wrong, it's just that IMO the guys I have ahead of him are slightly better prospects/players, especially the "lower rated" goalies I have ahead of him like Leneveu, Deslauriers or Toivonen. The 2002 draft is slowly looking to be a very solid draft.

Well it just struck me strange to see Leneveau and Toivonen ranked above him, but I'll respect your opinion on that. I was just wondering what made you leave him off. It doesn't seem like he's done much to change his position and he and Josh Harding were the best goalies in the WHL last season.

I think a case could definitely be made either way, just a matter of opinion. Maybe it's just that sometimes I have jitters when it comes to rating WHL goaltending prospects high because of the string of bad luck that WHL goalie prospects have gone through in recent years.

I think thats kinda premature to say considering Whitney has never been to an NHL camp and played the entire last season injured....give it some time before we say that. You may turn out to be right but it is way to early to say that.

This is my homer post for the day, but I think Jim Slater would still slip into the first round if the draft were redone. He's got 15 points in 9 games and was named captain as a junior at Michigan State. He hits like a ton of bricks too.
