I'll be heading out to a shop tomorrow to purchase some goalie skates, i'd just like to know which kind you'd get so I can be on the look out tomorrow.

agreed, 100% BUT one of the most popular new skate for goalies is the 9K. Not only is it because of the pump feature but because it is the first goalie skate with a replaceable runner. Another popular skate would be the Vapor XXX, which is probably the lightest goalie skate. Andyet another very popular skate is grafs, they have an awkward holder but have a smaller blade so it's easier to skate in(think players skate meets goalie skate), they are also very comfortable.

So basically there are advantages to ever skate, what it really comes down to is personal preference and how the skate fits.

I've been told that the Bauer skates have a narrower heel than the grafs.

Historically, the low level Bauer goal skates had some problems, mostly having to do with the stitching in the tongue coming undone. But the upper level Bauers are great.

I heard that there was/is a problem with the Vapor XXX cowling.
