Barons game today (non-official thread)

Barons play today.
Looking for things out of first and foremost: Rassmiller/Zalesak/Boyes/Goc/Erhoff/Loyns

and secondarily:
Plihal/Clowe/Stevenson/Murray

What do you guys know about Garret Stafford?

Garret Stafford is really good....he reminds me ALOT of Chad Wiseman in his stye of play. Let's hope they sign him. He's currently on a PTO.

Where did he come from? How old is he? Is he good because of talent or maturity? What stile does he play?

Thank you
~Alex

He's 23 and played for the University of New Hampshire. He was playing for the LA Kings in the Rookie Tourney back at the beginning of September, and he impressed Coach Sommer enough to get a contract (PTO) after the Kings released him. He's a good, aggressive, offensive defenseman. He's got that power-skater style that makes him alot of fun to watch. I think we'll see alot more good things from him in the near future, especially if we can get him signed!!

Do you know why the Kings released him?

I really don't know why LA released him. I'd look around the net for it if I wasn't at work. I'm glad they did, though....cuz now we have him!!

could a baron fan give a good anaylsis of how Brad Boyes is doing. more so how he is doing at the #1 center spot, is he making his teamates better? playing good enough in his own end ect. I was pretty excited when he came into the Org, but then has a lousy camp and I wonder if his physical limitiations ( size and speed ) are keeping him from bringing his game to the next level.

He has some points (8 or 9, off the top of my head), but I have yet to see anything spectacular from him. Also, he's been on left wing, not center. Patrick Rissmiller has been centering Boyes and Zalesak on the first line. They haven't even been the 1st line consistently....they've been 2nd or 3rd mostly until just these past few games. The line plays really well together, but honestly (and I'm NOT being biased here!!) It's been Patrick who has been creating the offense, setting up plays, passing well, etc.
