The Results are in! the 67th annual HF Moderators Mock!

For the past couple of weeks, the our Esteemed Moderation Staff has been hard at work mocking the 2006 draft. For the most part, moderators who are fans of the team picking made the picks, though it wasn't always possible...at which point a trusted stand-in made the pick. Enjoy, feel free to lavish with praise, rinse with scorn, and so on and so forth.

1. St. Louis - Erik Johnson
2. Pittsburgh - Phil Kessel
3. Chicago - Johnathan Toews
4. Washington - Nicklas Backstrom
5. Boston - Jordan Staal
6. Columbus - Derrick Brassard
7. NY Isles - Kyle Okposo
8. Phoenix - Peter Mueller
9. Minnesota - Bryan Little
10. Florida - Jiri Tlusty
11. Los Angeles - Nigel Williams
12. Atlanta -James Sheppard
13. Toronto - Michael Frolik
14. Vancouver - Patrik Berglund
15. Tampa Bay - Bob Sanguinetti
16. Montreal - Ty Wishart
17. Minnesota (from Edmonton) - David Fischer
18. Colorado - Chris Summers
19. Anaheim - Mark Mitera
20. San Jose - Joey Ryan
21. NY Rangers - Chris Stewart
22. Philadelphia - Ryan White
23. Buffalo - Michael Grabner
24. Washington [from Nashville]- Johnathan Bernier
25. New Jersey - Brian Strait
26. Calgary - Ben Maxwell
27. Dallas - Cory Emmerton

I could live with Stewart at 21.

Much rather have Grabner, though.

If there's one player I don't want Philadelphia to draft, it's Ryan White.

From one Kings fan's perspective....If Lombardi chooses Nigel Williams over say Frolik or Sheppard....I will not be a happy fan.

You're all a bunch of goalie haters! Every last one of ya! Well, except for the fine young mod who made the Caps second pick.

Well done overall. Chain and I are going to have to discuss the Grabner pick over a 3AM coffee in the parking lot at Tim Horton's.

I just went past that Horton's twenty minutes ago on my way back into work!

What's not to like about Grabner? You and your goalies... you'd think it was a family thing. Oh. Wait.

Not a happy fan here in South-Florida too...

For the same reasons...

Even if Tlusty is an intriguing pick too

Chain, you know I'm just being a nutcracker.
Grabner would be a fine addition to any team that takes him, including Buffalo. The kid's got speed to burn....and then some more. I had to go chalk with Helenius in the staff mock. BPA and positional need.

I wouldn't put it past Regier/Luce/Benning jumping on him. I can see a banner hanging from the rafters in HSBC in 20 years that reads "Austrian Connection".

he is exactly the type of player ther Flyer have been after the past few years. A lot of people have said that you win with guys like that. For a team that seems like they're consistently trading those guys away, it's time to bring in some more kids who are in it to win

With Richards and Carter... White would fit right in.

Although I'd be very happy with either Mueller or Brassard. Just don't like to see a guy
