I see many posters saying why don't we play open game but even if we were to play that kind of game who's gone score, it will more often humiliate us then now, we don't have many consistent scorer though I could argued we could have strong commitement on defence with Dackell, Juneau, Ward, Kilger, Hossa, Bulis in the line up as you can Defence is the common factor among all this guys and boring as it may look, at least it will keep les boys with some integraty, only one way forward we have is Audette and he's done IMO, so where do you suppose we get fire power to support offensive game, we're having hard time keeping opponent scoring low as it is, REporters would have field day if our team starts floating with a plan that our team can't support every team has its limitation and we have very little fire power so very little tools to make the Offensive system work, but playing defence atleast keeps opponent in check, which is the best arsenal tool for any weak team in this league and we are just that, accept it for now and stop complaining.
Julien's system is a full-ice "controlled agression" system. Sounds like something Hitchcock would say, though Julien claims it mimicks what the Sens do and that it is designed to take pressure off our small centers by sending the winger in on a steering forecheck.
How does that take the pressure off our centers? It leaves them to play the trap and engage in a board battle in the neutral zone, something we don't want, right?
