Buffalo move up to #6, what would it take

Buffalo has said it would like to move up inside to top ten. GMDM said there is a 50-50 chance he will make a move this weekend.

Max, Pyatt and 24????

GMDM does a radio show on Wednesdays during the season (including today). www.1460thefan.com. Starts at 3 eastern. This topic might come up, you never know.

Who is being targeted to justify the expense?

For all the Sabre fans, can Pyatt play the right wing? If he can, it could peak some interest from Blue Jacket fans. This trade helps us fill two potential holes in our lineup.

I find it hard to believe DMGM would move that far down, but your offer is a good one and would require some consideration. If it were me, I'd do it (although I haven't done any thinking on the contract/free agency status of the 2 players).

I think that's a pretty good deal for both teams. Nicely done.

Since I was born in Buffalo and lived there 27 years and moved to Columbus 11 years ago, I'm trying my best to see the two of them in the finals

A defenseman like Tallinder or Kalinen would interest MacLean more than forwards.

MacLean stated on his radio show today that he will not move off the #6. He did say that he was looking to trade up but right now the teams are wanting "way way way to much".

I love how Buffalo's leading scorer keeps getting treated like a spare part on the roster. Max is a big part of the Sabres team speed and balanced scoring. I don't see an organizational replacement for his role if he's traded.

Agreed. He doesn't finish a lot, but he does a damn good job of starting.

Buffalo needs to move forwards. I personally love the excitement Max brings, but it gets frustrating watching him try to do it all himself--frustrating. I would rather cut payroll and take a shot for the future at this time. Max will look for and get 2 mil a year. call me crazy

If he goes to arbitration, he could get more than 2 million. His stats this year were much better than a lot of guys who make a ton more than him.

Guys like Max and Kotalik are in line to get raises that will throw off the payroll balance and probably won't result in good value, so they might be good candidates to move.
