Well, that won't happen. Besides, Weight might be labeled a "finesse" player, but he can more than take care of himself. Just ask Bryan Marchment.

One point though...

Does it hurt the Blues worst to have Weight suspended for 4 games or a stiff like Reed Low to be out for 20?

The cheap shot probably cost Weight $500K, and will really hurt the Blues in the 4 games he misses. Probably not a bad punishment IMO.

4 games is 2 more than I thought he'd get so I'm happy with that I guess but 6 would have been better; send a message to everyone that cheap shots to the head is inexcusable.

4 is good.. i thought 5 at the most... like some people stated, they need to send the message out that they won't be allowing this type of behavior even from big namers like Weight...

I would have given him 4 games, and made him wear panties for a week.

Yeah, you're right. He's clearly untouchable. All I'm saying is, paybacks can be harsh, and unless they're going to have someone follow Weight around all game, there will be plenty of chances for someone to lay a brutal check / hit / punch on him. Remember Jackman? Bertuzzi didn't even come close to hitting him full force.

Wouldn't take much for him to send Weight to la-la land with a big hit. Legally, even....

After seeing the replay he got what he deserved. I dont think that he or the Blues are as dirty as some have implied. In fact I have no Problem with the way Weight played last night. Someone needed to let the Canucks know that they just arent going to Physically batter the Blues Clean hits or not. Its about time one of their guys got smoked.

Agreed, but in an emotional contact game like Hockey Stuff happens. This will just spice up the rivalry more.

No, they would be the panties from the player he cross checked in the head... thus Henrik.

The good news is Henrik changes his panties daily... the bad news is that he changes them with Daniel...

Acceptable punishment IMO...

Exactly. 'Nucks were very lucky to get out of that one with very little damage considering the grief they've cost the Blues.

Next game... Weight & Co. better watch out for the freight-train named Bertuzzi; keep yer heads up.

I just read about the suspension on TSN.ca and Weight's response was that his stick rolled up by accident and that Sendin was faking any injury, lying on the ice for 30 minutes and then not missing a shift. Even if Sendin did embellish the effect a bit, Weight got caught hitting a player's head with his stick. He should have apolgized.

4 games is about what the majourity of people thought it would be (see poll on Canucks board)

Good judgment by the league.

So now you've changed your stance. First it was that someone was going to "pound him" but now it's just going to be a big hit. Big deal. He can take a big hit. Get off your Bertuzzi cream dream, he's a big guy and he can do damage, about just as much damage as a Blues player could do to Naslund if something were to happen to Weight. Quit dreaming in "la-la land."

Naslund? That would definitely be cheap. Bertuzzi's hits are huge but they're clean... big difference.

Four games is what I thought we'd get, and it's fair. Should it have been more? I think more wouldn't have hurt, but it also wouldn't have made any difference. The fact is, Weight made a dangerous play and he got held accountable for it, that's as much as Canucks players and fans can ask for. It was dirty and the league recognized it as such. He got punished. This whole "suspend him for 10 games plus" crap is pointless. Weight, for the better part, is a clean player. That's why he didn't get 10 games, as opposed to a guy like Oliwa or Hatcher, who have a history of pugilism and cheapshots, who would likely get more. Weight isn't exactly a noted goon, hence the 4-game sentence being fair.

He was bleeding and his helmet broke, did he rig that too?
