I remember when he was drafted. I just goes to show, never pick a goalie that high.

I've typically felt that way, unless it's a slam-dunk guy like Lehtonen. Many of the goaltenders that are at the top of the league today were later round guys. If you have the scouting to do it, it's better to pick up project goalies in the mid rounds than blow a sure-fire pick in the early first. Our top goaltending prospect, Pekka Rinne, is a fifth round pick. Compare that to Finley, who he made expendable.

Pssst....Rinne was an 8th rounder.
