Koivu

Has anyone heard how his eye and vision are coming along?

Last I heard, it was career threatening and that he was worried that it wasn't healing fast enough and that he had trouble with it.

In Saturday's Journal de Montreal they wrote Gainey said he is healing well and is expected to make a full recovery.

I don't know how Gainey is going to do with the free agency hunting , whithout being sure if he has to count Saku in his budget , or if not ...

5 million is a lot of money , without saying that if Saku isn't able to play , Bob needs to find someone else to put in the first line .

At least we can all be happy for Saku , that he didn't loose his eye .

Anyway, IMO, gainey should find a way to trade some guys and after filled the holes by signing some UFA'S. Because will all the guys they (bod and guy) might not want at the beginning of the season (zednik, ribeiro, souray...), and maybe saku's health, it's hard to know our real need.

But hey, a center and a big d-men would'nt be bad at all !!

I don't think Koivu's situation will change Gainey's thinking about signing free agents. Unless Gainey trades Aebischer for a center (which is unlikely) there's a good chance he will sign Jason Arnott as a UFA next month. Of course it's still possible he can trade for Vincent Lecavalier, which would make most people happier.
