I'll avoid any obvious "bucket of pucks" remarks.

I don't think we'll get much more than a prospect or third line grinder. I'd like a forward, since we're stacked with defensive prospects. I'd like them to emphasize speed over size, since we have plenty of size at forward but lacking a bit in skill at the prospect level.

A veteran, fourth or fifth defensive defenseman.

Bob Boughner for starters. I still say that Skoula isn't done cooking yet, and for all the frustration that folks here express about him...he's still has the potential to be scary good in a couple of years. Given that we may be working from a strength in terms of D-depth in a couple of years, then Boughner/Markov from Carolina would be a good start. This would probably require a pick or so exchanging hands as well...but maybe not.

I don't think skoula's value is that high.

But has Skoula's trade value dropped so much that the best we can hope for is about a 3rd round pick and a half-way decent prospect? I would hope for at least a foward prospect with top 6 potential but then again I don't even think we should trade him. Skoula may not be great but he is world's better than Mcallistor or Smith. If we trade Skoula and when Foote's yearly injury comes around were going to be SOL.

Send him to Washington for Gonchar.

Add a pick or two if ya want.

Please don't talk up Skoula. I've seen more of his games than I want to remember and I know full well what he can do. Unfortunately, he can't do anything right in his own zone, which makes him a liability defensively wherever he goes unless a team has a fulltime coach that wants to spend most of his waking hours trying to teach Skoula the defensive end. It's got nothing to do with Sejna or Mayers and everything to do with Skoula and his pisspoor hockey sense in his own end. The Blues already have Khavanov anyway, who does most of the same stupid crap that Skoula does. I should have waited three days to respond, but I did type this while chuckling (chuckling much like the day Drury was traded to Calgary; Ensane knows what I'm talking about right?)

I'm assuming you're new to HF; so, I'll save you the trouble of the homerism line of thought with me. Being a homer is something I've never been accused of; it's one of the few names I have yet to be called actually. Try some profanities instead; I'm used to being called those.

The only thing making this humorous to you is your homerism.

I think Sejna is probably a bit much to ask for at this point, but could be had if Pleau is really desperate for defense. At this point I'd try to get a decent defensive d-man and a 2nd rd pick in 05 if you are really desperate for suscess this year or for future suscess i'd try to get any sort of young offensive talent. Depends on which team is offering.

Seen it before; some Jersey mamaluke ICX (or something like that) threw that out there for me. I then launched into a stripper-based counterattack that so completely debilitated the young hotshot that he had no response to it.

I'm a wicked fellow, young Skywalker; be careful how you tread.

I lost a bet on the Sabres - Avs game with BironsGirl43 so that's my avatar for the next week.

By the way... when will my submitted article for LGA.com be reviewed?

Just think of it as payback for that tongue-twisted testicle remark.

Given the Avs' depth at that position, one would have to have at least Skoula's replacement in a trade.

I'd like to put him in a package with Tanguay, Boychuk and a 1st Pick to Washington for Kolzig and Gonchar.

I don't really think those two Caps are unattainable, especially at the deadline. Leonsis will be really unpredictable this season I'm willing to bet. Anything could happen. Jagr could be attainable for Mikhail Kuleshov for all we know.
