Any love for Samsonov?

Rumor:

translation:
In the newspapers of Boston and edmonton, it is written that Bob Gainey would try to make sign this attacker with CH. One of the recruiters would have mentioned it Saturday with a journalist of edmonton. Surely a blunder on behalf of this recruiter but in vain....

Do you believe that Samsonov would be it welcome among partisans of CH, me I like his speed but has which price?

I don't see that happening, but I would love to see him in the habs jersey. He is my second choice behind Elias for forward that are UFA

Why not , he was the best Bruins in the playoffs. And it's always good to have someone on the team who can understand what the hell Markov is saying !!

I would love to get Samsonov on a Habs uniform. He is definitely a top 2 lines LW, which we are in need of and a right hand shot. Still young, he is 28-29 no? Given that he had a so-so season, he could be had for 3-3.5mill IMO and I would give him that. Only draw back is that he is really small.

While he is talented, he is also small and injury prone. We have enough of that already on the team. I'd take him only if the price is really low ... something that is not going to happen.

I love Samsonov... one of my favorite players but i don't know if he's what we need. We need a bigger top six winger. Then again, if we can get rid of Ribs (which i hope we do) perhaps Samsonov could be signed. He wasn't that great in the playoffs but he didn't have that much time to adapt with his teammates.

Higgins - Koivu - Kovalev
Ryder - Arnott - Samsonov

I could live with that. heheh

I sure hope we don't sign Samsonov. I don't want a guy who's invisible most of the time and uni-dimensional.

That would be great with 3rd and 4th line depth to boot

Lightning are rumored to be shopping winger Fredrik Modin and Ruslan Fedotenko , in their search for a starter goaler . Modin would be great ...

I would take him depending on his salary of course .. problem is he gets injured often ..

I would go for Arnott and Shanahan first

I appreciate you calling him midget, no sarcasm, really.

I agree he's not the perfect guy I want on the 2nd LW but maybe Kovalev would like him there. I hate the guy and hope we have other priorities but I'd take him if that't what it comes down to.

he's not the sammy I remember.

It seems as though his history of injuries has made him lose a step. Still pretty useful but a player I believe is going downhill form here on end.

I guess if every other prominent UFA on the market refuses to sign with us, and he's the last guy available, we should probably consider signing him. Smurf or not.

I don't want Samsonov. He is similar to the type of players we already have, and I think that he disappeared at times in the playoffs.

Samsonov on top of being small, disappearing through stretches (and games), being totally non-physical and not knowing where to find his own zone, is also a headcase and injury prone. No thanks really...

Edit: and it's not because I hate small players, but I'd rather have a guy like Daniel Briere (I know he's not available).

No thx for me.. He just doesnt fit in the picture... He is extremmely quick and talended but lack finish as almost all our fowards outside Kovy and Ryder.. Skills are no longer a problem for us up front... Kids like Perezhogin, Kostitsyn, Higgins, Plekanec, Grabovski, Latendresse are gonna make this team improve a big deal...

Samsonov is also so quick that he forgets the puck at time and isnt always effective offensively.. He looks like an improved version of Oleg Petrov... I rather have kids like Perezhogin, Kostitsyn or Grabovski to get NHL action on an offensive line instead.

I'd take Samsonov in a heartbeat. Great LW, which we don't have buckets of in Mtl and a righthand shot to boot which could do wonders for our PP.

I don't care what size he is, he comes to play and is electrifying whenever he touches the puck. He'd fit like a glove alongside Kovalev.

That being said, we can't ignore his injury past either, so I wouldn't go overboard to land him. Short term contract and/or reasonable amount I'd do it, if Samsonov starts getting a bidding war going past the 3.5M mark I'd pass, too much of a risk.

I'd trade Aebischer or Zednik for either one, and both for both.
