Pierre Dagenais with Thornton?

Pierre Dagenais scored nearly 20 goals playing with Mike Ribeiro two years ago. How many goals would he have playing all year long with Joe Thornton?

20, maybe 25? His only assets are his shot and his chemistry with Ribeiro so I don't think he could be effective with another center, even with a Joe Thornton.

And the purpose of this question is....?

With the number of prospects that we have on the wings, the only way Dagenias gets back on the habs bench is to be the Stick Boy!

I think he would score 45 goals with Joe, so the Sharks should give the Habs a 1st and 2nd draft choice for him

I am curious, what is the point of that question?

I am one of the rare person who think Dagenais should have stayed in montreal for PP purposes, but with thornton

We already have a player that is only good on the PP - Ryder -, no need for two. Dagenais is a softer, slower, crappier Ryder so...

Zero. Thornton/ Cheechoo would already be celebrating by the time he got to the offensive zone.

Give it up Pierre. You're playing in St-Hya now.

Come on man, the guy is still a human being. Simply because he isn't cut out for the NHL doesn't make him trash. Hell, he at least got to play in the NHL; how many of us can say that?

The only thing Dagenais will have in common with Joe Thornton is the fact that the former and the latter's cousin won't play in the NHL next season. That's it folks!

I doubt that Thornton will be playing in the AHL next year so we will never know

LOL, you should team Dagenais with Jason Allison...they'll get to the offensive zone by the time the Leafs win their next Cup...

Dagenais had his career year with the Habs but then turned back into a pumpkin the following season. Believe it or not, his career year in '03-04 actually pumped up Ribeiro's career year rather than the reverse. When Dagenais fell to earth, Ribeiro found it difficult to score points even in the "new" NHL, where the checking was less intense. Come to think of it, their mutual scoring problems started in the '04 playoffs, when both were dead weights.

In about 67 games ( the rest spent on the bench of course) Pierre Would score exactly 34 and 8 assists with big joe.

Actually, that's not true. Joe Thornton's cousin (Scott Thornton), will still be around next season, unless I missed some retirement announcement.

I think people forget that Cheechoo had a whopping 7 goals through 24 games (on pace for an incredible 24 goals) before Thornton showed up. Cheechoo's gonna cash in and burn somewhere without Thornton and I just hope it isn't Montreal.

Noone remembers the plethora of Penguins in the early-to-mid 90s that cashed in after playing with Mario, and then never did anything?
