The trap: An Offensively-based system???

Not sure if this has been posted already, but James Duthie of TSN (Robin to Maggie the Monkey's Batman) went to go interview the inventor of the much detested trap system (surprisingly, the guy came out alive...I guess Maggie held back Duthie). Apparently today's version of the trap is a hideous mutation of the system the inventor originally created. It's supposted to be an offensive system, not defensive.

Crazy stuff, eh?

I saw that special; pretty funny.

"Duthie...your mission is to find the man who invented the trap. NOW WAKE UP YOU LAZY S**T!"

But it was originally an offensive system, that was certainly a twist I didn't expect.

His idea wasn't bad at all. I would like to see Montreal playing this way.

Thats news to me. Ive heard several old timers on the radio including bob plager saying that they played the trap in the 60's, they just did put a name to it until recently.

The trap has existed from the beginning.
It was used with success or not, with the available players you had at the time.
