OT - Flooding

I heard it's getting nasty in and around Philadelphia. For all who are in or near the flooding, stay safe and dry!!

i was just in philly for a job interview. in center city the schyukill is very very close to flowing over onto the bike path and such, 76 is backed up due to kelly drive being closed and more. a few of the regional rail lines are shut down/partially operational. my town here in northern bucks has a huge area completely flooded. hopefully the rain doesnt keep coming like it's supposed to or 76 is going to be really really nasty

It took us over 3 hours to get to the beach today from lower bucks with my camp kids. The bus drivers kept trying to find different ways out of lower bucks and into NJ but everything was flooded. I heard the Deleware isn't supposed to stop rising for another 2 days. It is also supposed to rise 3 feet higher than it did last april with the really bad flooding.

It is all the way from NY to Maryland with us being inbetween the worst of it. The bad news is that it looks like it is going to keep raining. I love the rain because it means I get to get paid to go to the movies or bowling with 8 to 12 year olds but for everyone else I will hope that it stops.

Warminster, high and dry, as always. There's no rivers or creeks or streams or any bodies of water around here though.

I work in King of Prussia, it usually takes me 15 minutes to get home. Today, it took me an hour. First way I usually go, the street was flooded. I tried to take 202 and that was backed up for as long as the eye could see. Then I took 422 and that's always backed up. Very annoying trip home. Then to top it off, I found out that my grandmother is being taken to the hospital. Just made things worse.

This is amazing (and goes to show how much news I avoid) I didn't really know much about this. I live just outside of Atlantic City and as far as I know, there's nothing been happening local, so this is really crazy to hear.

I think we have been under a flood watch every day since April up here, or at least it seems like it.

I live in Yardley, PA. I have a 2nd flr apt so my stuff is ok, but I have been evacuated. This is the 3rd flood I have been through. It is a pain in the ***. This one is supposed to be worse than the April 05 flood. If you arent in it, be thankful. It is a horrible site once the water drops. Looks like a war zone. Imagine everyone in your town/city throwing out everything they own. There will be piles of trash 20 feet high all over the place. The trees and debris will be scattered everywhere. The pavement will buckle and there will be sink holes all over. The smell is digusting. So, I have to spend some time with the in-laws. I doubt I will be allowed back in for a few weeks. At least this time I was able to empty my refrigerator this time.

The river is supposed to crest sometime Friday morning around 28 feet.

I live in manayunk. Luckily I live in the hills, so I am high and dry, but my poor drinking establishments are not

Haha- I'm originally from CT and was a Whalers fan. Before they left in 97, I was really impressed with the Panthers run to the finals and decided I wouldn't follow the Whalers to Carolina. Sorry- I always get asked that around campus.

What year are you? Major? I'm a junior and I'm majoring in digital media...I also play on our club roller hockey team.

I live like 7 minutes from southampton. As for the flood, I went up to the New Hope area today to see the river. It was a pretty surreal experience seeing houses under water in person like that. Hope everyone is safe and okay though...
