This serves two purposes IMO.

They go back to what worked last season...letting him run around on the ice for a few games and then let him watch one. I think in all the hubbub about how damn talented this kid is, we forget he is still just learning the NHL game, and there is bound to be an adjustment period. Ales is forcing things right now, something he wasn't doing before. This should do him some good.

Also, it protects our youngest, brightest star from the thuggery that is the Toronto Maple Leaves. Should things get out of hand, I know Fat Quinn and the rest of his de-evolved cromagnons will try and goon it up. Ales in PB is much better than Ales on the ice in that situation.

Salo the Sieve lets us down with a goal with 2.0 seconds left.

2-0 Laffs.

Your right, it had nothing to do with the good, timely penalties taken by Horcoff and Moreau.

At least our forwards are taking advantage of the older, tired Leafs line-up.

Well, if you're gonna cover about 2 feet of the net and that's it, you're going to let in a ton of goals. Could repeat my "Tommy needs his fundamentals fixed" argument, but I'm way too mad tonight. Everything that we could possibly do wrong seems to be coming to a head.

Tommy hasn't stolen a game for us in a loooooong time.

I was looking forward to this game all week and now we're getting embarrassed nationally on HNIC by these old geezers....

Rather than mincing words and explaining myself, I'll say it's a combination BUT

Salo was playing very badly.

Well, the first goal was a nice backhander by Sundin....the second was a great tough angle shot....and the third goal...well, Salo should've covered the net a bit better. The offense hasn't been bad, and I'm beginning to wonder if its actually Belfour or the Dallas Stars that have our number.

Honestly, I have no clue. Just look at the lineup tonight, where is the coaching staff making their decisions from? Sure don't think it's the logical end of the pool. I'd like to see Conklin start, but doubt it's going to happen. I'm much more interested in if this PB stint destroys Hemsky's confidence/belief in his coach.

If it does, he won't be much of a player in this league for long. Most coaches don't take well to blind givaways and poor defensive play for long.

Most coaches also don't bench their leading scorers and play a hurting enforcer on the top line, while keeping guys like a certain PPL I know in the lineup.

It was confidence in MacTavish BTW, not confidence in himself or coaches in general I was talking about.

Yay no shutout!

I also heard the announcer call the Toronto goalie "Belfart" which was good for a laugh!

I doubt they'll tie it up but at least they got a goal. Thank God the offense is usually always there.

Show me an NHL coach who won't bench a 20 year old who is struggling and I'll show you a guy with a future as a junior coach. He was struggling, and it will no doubt benefit Hemsky to watch a game or two upstairs.

As for the Horcoff ripping, well I guess he's this year's whipping boy. I do want to ask you a question, though, in this regard:

Do you think it's possible for a good player to have a stretch where he's fighting the puck?

I've seen alot of hockey, and it's fairly common in my experience. Players have good games, months, seasons, and they also have bad stretches that match them. Horcoff is in a bad stretch.

Ever had a bad stretch, LoudmouthHemskyfan#1?

I thought so.
