interesting read, even if the article seems to suggest that we're going to be signing every Minnesotan on the market.

"I'm not so sure I would feel that way if we didn't do the Nummelin thing." (paraphrase regarding the lack of need for a bluechip dman)

I have a bad feeling that Nummelin is going to be looking like the Wild's answer to Tony Bautista in about four months. Please prove me wrong Peterri.

*"....a Rolston-Koivu-Bouchard line"

I guess that's no surprise, but my gosh, what a goal scorer's dream. I do hope we add one more finisher so Koivu can command a separate depth line, spreading out the offense.

*"but if we split them up we only have one Rolston."

Very interesting. As much as I wish this was a hint that we are making a run at Elias, I assume it means signing a guy like Parrish/Sillinger.

If you're a true Wild fan, you'll head over to Cub, and drop off a fruit basket this instant.

Anyone else a little POed at this article? We need a top flight winger, so we trade O'Sullivan off. We need a gritty role player, so we trade O'Sullivan off. We nearly signed Cullen, didn't. We didn't sign another guy. ***?

If anything POed me, it was that we're supposedly only spending $6 mm on new free agents.

Chara's agent: "We've thought it over, and Zdeno really wants the chance to play with Marian and Pavol. How about $30mm over 5 years?"

Riser "ummmmph. Sorry. Just can't swing it. It would break our budget. Dan Hinote won't play for wonder bread. The CBA won't allow it."

Chara's agent: *click*

Riser: "Hmmm...I wonder what Lubomir Sekeras is up to...."

Need now is the key. I'll be happy for O'Sullivan if I'm proven wrong, but I don't think he's going to be top flight this season. I certainly don't think he would've been with the Wild. System, system, system.

Hardly.

I'm saying I don't think O'Sullivan could've stepped right into it and been a top guy. He'd need time to learn before he got top guy minutes.
