Predict what the Habs will do today?

Today!

Will we make a signing? If we do, who will it be?

Will we make a trade?

Will we do nothing?

At the end of the day we can see who's right

Absolutely nothing

The only way a player signs today is if they really are heartbent on joining a certain team

Gainey will hold a press conference to publically mock Jan Bulis.

Could you imagine if they held a press conference just to announce the Cube signing

They'll sign Chara, Elias and Arnott; Trade Ribeiro and Zednik for Ovechkin and trade Aebischer for Kari Lethonen

That was a funny one.

Now that being said, I wonder where, for how much and when Bulis signs a contract...

My bet is Chicago... just because that's the kind of place you go, if you are a bit self centered (money, position or such) as opposed to look for a winning team.

Answering the thread question...

I think that Bob will hit soon this time around.

He will sign a forward, either Arnott or Shanahan

Today? Nothing.... Tomorrow? Nothing....you know the rest.

We all know that if there's no trade, the d-men position is done.....with 0 changes...

Goalies, most of the people believes we shouldn't trade Aebi in case Huet is not Huet anymore....So Goalie change.....0 change

Forwards, again everybody seems to think Bonk is not tradeable and we didn't buy him out. Lot of people seems willing to give Zednik and Ribeiro another chance to perform under Carbo, people saw Zednik playing better in the playoffs and Ribeiro might suddenly become grittier and more physical with Carbo. Most of us still believes in Perez so would you please tell me where are the openings????

On top of that we believe Kosty and Lapierre and maybe Ferland have a chance of making it.

The only guy that left officially is Sundstrom, Bulis will leave as well but not official if I'm not mistaken.

So again, where are the openings for any movement?????

lol maybe that's just me but I havent seen anyone willing to give another chance to Ribeiro or Zednik and nobody's including Ferland or Lapierre in their future starting lineup...
Anyway, it's not like if what we are thinking makes a difference, it's all about what BG is thinking that matters...

Nice shot at the team and the players on it.

Saddly, I have a feeling Gainey will stay put with the current roster...

Everyone praised the Theo trade because of the cap space it would create for us, but in the end our line-up in 06-07 will remain the same (minus sunny/bulis, replaced with another wave of young guys... Kots, Ferland, maybe tender).

Ribs will get yet another opportunity to show the world that he is a one dimensional player way to inconsistent to be true top six material. Zednik will hopefully bounce back and score close to 30, Komi, Higgins and pleks will continue to improve and give us hope for the future, Ryder will mystify us all yet again and score another 30, and the habs will flirt with being a very good team all year but once again have to fight and claw to make it to the playoffs where we will bow out in the first round. We will all spend the year hoping and praying that Gainey makes a move before the deadline to bump us up from a 7 to 10 playoff hopefull team to a 4-6 playoff lock team.

The future does look bright, but I don't think Gainey has the stones to make the kind of moves that could bring us into cup contention any time soon.
(anyone else see the link between the canes- weight/recchi- and the oilers -spacek/roloson/samsonov- taking risks and going to the cup final???)

No one is doing anything right now, I mean the biggest signings of the day were the lucrative deals those NHL superstars Eriksson, Svitov and co got from the Blue Jackets.

Nope, that would be the Staal and Roloson re-signings

Ok so that makes 1, I'm waiting for the 2nd one where I'm expecting to see more than 1 guy supporting him...
Maybe you want me to create the : Give a 3rd chance to Sundstrom as well, I guess it will mean that everyone wants him back after all he has done for us... There's also Randy Mckay that hasn't announced his retirement yet from what I remember, maybe if I was creating a topic on him as well, it would mean that we all want to give the guy a second chance of showing us what he's made of...

true, but I don't think downgrading the goaltending position would be considered a move that improved the team for the playoff run (even if you argue that it was a good move long term because of the salary space it opened up).

Actually I was going to argue it was a good move in the short-term because Theo was not playing and our playoff spot was far from guaranteed.
