I think we had to sign him. He shows heart every game, he wins alot of battles and he plays much bigger than he actually is. I thought he had a great year last year and was very consistent. I also presume that he is a good team guy.
I thought our D played great last season and they should be even better this year. I expect Bouillon to have an even better season.

He plays like our coaching staff did, good signing by Bob IMO

I like Francis but too much money.....I'd rather invest it in Elias

After seeing what Hal Gill and Joe Corvo got this afternoon, I am really, really happy with the Boullion signing.

Might be a bit of an overpayment (on Boullion), but we are talking by a couple hundred thousand dollars, not a million or so like the two above mention d-man.

Wallin got less, 1.725 million per, and part of the money can be seen as reward for winning the Cup.

looking at this crazy market for d-men, it seems as though frankie joined the UFA pool at the right time

We've heard a ton about how d-men are being overpaid so far this year but lets face the fact that its a hot market for experienced d-men.

It's a shame that Gillette seems to have no clue about hockey,a tl east about the financial part of it. It doesn't take much to see how badly Gainey is hurting the team's futurre with these deals. You could sort of live with a Kovalev or even a Saku, guys who are overpaid but at least can make an impact but guys like Bouillon, Dandy, etc. have no chance of making an impact and are only taking money away for other players (whether they be guys that are traded for, signed or even retaining your own more expensive players like Rivet and Markov)

I changed my mind on the signing after seeing what the other UFA Ds got and i have to agree with you.

While i'm still not a big fan of investing a lot of money in bottom pairing D/4th liners , the signing does look better compared to many others made yesterday.

No, but I would prefer Zyuzin at 1.6 million...

and besides, regardless of what other mistakes GM's around the league make, Bouillion at anything more than 1.5/per was a mistake, the guy just doesn't have the game to match it (even if I love his heart and attitude)

Glad we got Franky under contract and for a price less then what he was reportedly asking for, as that was just not worth for him.
