He's a good offensive guy for a bottom pairing role. If you expect any more of him than a number 5 or 6 guy you'll be disappointed, but if you ask the Canucks board what they thought of him you'll hear a lot more positives than negatives.
I really don't know what he signed for, but we don't have more than 1.2 million to give to our bottom pairing guys, and we only had two defensemen under contract so we had to sign someone.

You got a positionally excellent defenseman, with very very good decision making and passing. Almost never turns over the puck. And he'll hold the line on the power play better than almost anyone i've seen...
His downside is he doesn't play physical at all. but pair him with a monster like Hatcher to take care of that, and it'd all be good.
Another interesting note: Nolan played for Hitch in the WHL for Kamloops.

Yeah, that about sums him up. I don't know why that scouting report says he's mistake prone because he was very good for us.
Oh My God!!!!!! Absolutely BRUTAL!!!!!!!!! Clarke and company must read these boards and read the one post about how someone suggested they should just tank it this year. Guess what folks, they've already packed in the season. I don't know whether I should cry or laugh because this is definitely not one of Clarke's finest hours, that's for sure. And you can bet that Hitch was in on this too. And yet another one of his boys are coming into town in Baumgartner.
And to think, all of this while missing Forsberg for half the season. Anyone want to bet that Hitch is going to come up with some sort of trap system to try to keep this team successful? If we thought that they played the trap before, we haven't seen anything yet. Wow, just brutal. Our "management" team and scouting and coaching staff sat on our thumbs while everyone else got better. people are over-reacting again. what else is new its Philly. Ya know the way I am looking at it? yeah its Nolan Baumgartner, hes a 5th or probably even a a 6th guy. But If this means the 2 toed sloth Chris Therien isnt around as the 5th or 6th defenseman I dont mind this at all.
