Oh, christ. I'm not sure this was quite what any of us had in mind...

Good signing for you guys.

Carney was pretty good in his games with the Canucks. He's definitely fallen off a bit since his run with Anaheim, but he's still a solid second/third pairing guy. $2.1 isn't bad for him.

I like Carney, and I think we needed this type of veteran D. If anything, he'll be a good example to Schultz and Burns.

I'm okay with Carney if he's our only slow-footed D-Man. Now we have one tough D-Man. I see pairings as:

Carney & Johnsson
Skoula & Burns
Schultz & Nummelin
Foster

Foster is a pretty awesome 7th D-man if you ask me. Obviously, his minutes will suffer this coming season, but will likely get some powerplay time. At least I hope.

This is also a good puck moving defensive unit. With better D I see a better offense with the D doing a better job of initiating and supporting the forwards.

Wow. What a day ...

Yeah, you guys really improved your powerplay with what you've done this (early) offseason. Hopefully Johnsson is completely over his concussion problems. Plus he's no stranger to playing good sound defense having been coached by Hitchcock.

you didnt even put Parrish on that list which seems odd since he is a PP garbage specialist.

i just listed the top 5 offensive weapons imo.

Obviously parrish will get a ton of PP time, and be in the mix.

I think we can run out 2 good lines of PP talent.

I absolutely love this signing. Too bad it took us so long to get this guy...he turned a fiery hot Gaborik in the 02-03 playoffs into a non-factor. The consummate veteren stay at home guy. Willie Mitchell, but older and cheaper. We had to have someone like this to do any kind of damage.
