Where will the goals come from?

I see alot of 2-1 games in our future! Hopefully Lomarbdi has more in the pipelines. Imagine if we had traded Frolov and Brown for Pronger... ouch.

Conroy-Frolov-Cammalleri
O'Sullivan-Brown-Avery
Armstrong-Thorton-Kostopoulos
Guiliano-Parros-Cowan

Visnovsky-Norstrom
Blake-Miller
Sopel-Gleason
Dempsey Petiot as reserves

Garon-Labarbera

How about you wait until the first game of the season. By then all the garbage like Guiliano , Parros , Miller , Sopel , Dempsey most likely wont be there. Wait until the final roster is posted mate

Same place they came from last year, except with the following changes:

Old: Demitra
New: O'Sullivan (+ Kopitar?)

Old: Luc
New: Thornton

Old: Corvo
New: Blake

When Dean Lombardi spoke about Kopitar, it sounded like he was in no hurry to bring him up and he may play a year in Manchester. He mentioned it was a tough jump to the NHL without a year in North American Hockey and he didnt want to hurt his confidence.

I would love to get rid of some of that dead weight but the people you are talking about do have contracts and I dont think anyone would want a Sopel or Miller contract. Then again, with the prices being dropped for D-Men yesterday, you never know.

Gonna have to agree.

My prediction for Kopitar is he plays about 20 games in the AHL, dominates it, then gets brought up. Might not be 20, but I'm about 70% sure we'll see Anze sometime in LA next season.

That sounds about right. And if you add in the (I hope) improvements to the games of Fro, Brown, Cams, and Gleason, we're looking at a better team than last year.

Exactly, looking at the current rostor i dont see how DL cant make at least one trade before the start of the season. Both Belanger, and Weaver were qualified i believe and both are left out of the depth chart at the begining of this thread.

The start of season is a long way off still, give it till like the start or middle of august before you start trying to figure out what the opening night roster will look like.

d-man are very valuable, those contracts are average now, still hurts to see that norstrom contract.

You have got ot be joking about Norstrom. This UFA market has shown that he is paid the market rate if a little less.

Norstrom would have easily gotten between 4M-5M on the open market.

Anyone who doesn't see that is a blind man. Look at the contract Pavel Kubina was rewarded with. Defenseman who can play their position rather than posting nice big numbers in offensive categories are still paid handsomly. Case in point, McKee's 4 year, $16M contract. Mitchell 4 year, $14M.

The offense may be slightly worse, but the defense will be better. All three signings so far as far better at defense than the players that they will be replacing.

Guys, it is clear that you want and need Glen Murray back. How about a Kostopolous for Murray swap. If you want to trhow in someone else to even the salary a bit that is fine....or even Avery if he has worn out his welcome but it has been far too long since we good folks have traded and Murray would look good with Frolov.

Why not? We took Stumpel twice.
How did Murray do without JT after he left? I imagine that's why you want to get rid of him, and his contract.

and you must not have seen the market value for good defensemen. On the open market, Norstrom would have gotten at least $5M a year

Ha, our bad contracts come off the books next year. Murray's does not. Pass.
