Giving Dazé a chance

Sure the guy is injury prone, he hasnt played in almost 2 years, but he just might be the player we have been looking for ever, a big foward (6'6) who can score goals. Plus it'll shut the french media about not giving Quebecers a chance. I dont think a lot of teams will send him an offer, we should take a chance and give him a small contract, maybe about 900K with bonuses for the number of games he'll play. Watcha think.

Ummm, not really:

1994-95 Chicago Blackhawks NHL 4 1 1 2
1995-96 Chicago Blackhawks NHL 80 30 23 53
1996-97 Chicago Blackhawks NHL 71 22 19 41
1997-98 Chicago Blackhawks NHL 80 31 11 42
1998-99 Chicago Blackhawks NHL 72 22 20 42
1999-00 Chicago Blackhawks NHL 59 23 13 36
2000-01 Chicago Blackhawks NHL 79 33 24 57
2001-02 Chicago Blackhawks NHL 82 38 32 70
2002-03 Chicago Blackhawks NHL 54 22 22 44
2003-04 Chicago Blackhawks NHL 19 4 7 11

One 'decent' (+60 pts) season. He's not a holy grail everyone makes him out to be.

P.S. I know Chicago sucked forever but he was never a force on any editions of that team.

Yes I have seen Daze play, and he was finished ages ago. Might as well bring back Audette.

Can be an option but I don't think that having him for 1-2 year will be better than developp Latendresse or Kostitsyn who will be on the team few year

wow, if you judge a player solely on stats, than I guess you must think Koivu sucks pretty bad.

btw if it is stats that you want, then how about his average of .37 goals per game? Thats 30 goals in average for a 82 games season.

Lol, you're right. Averaging 30 goals in a 82 games = 10 goals in 27 games which would be the amount of games he will play if he's "healthy".

Where do the Daze suggestions even come from? Is there some 110%-like show somewhere who doesn't realize that Daze is retiring? People laugh at suggestions of Roenick or Lindros, who are both actually still able to play, but we get multiple threads on Eric Daze?

its one thing to be a "realist" or a "pessimist" and then theres you with your gloom and doom comments... im not gonna say we're gonna win the cup, but what, pray tell, does comments like this add to a discussion other than adding to your post count accomplish?
whats the point other than to rile people up?
if your trying to make a point or argue that we should sign a certain player or that a certain member of the management team is lacking in skills or something, SAY IT instead of making lame/pointless comments in EVERY thread that pretty well say NOTHING and add nothing to the actual discussion.. its pointless heh

as for the topic on hand... daze's back has had how long to heal? he'd have to sign for the league minimum for it to be remotely advantageous to the team this year and at that amount, he may not even want to sign heh

Why does this thread exist? If his name was Eric Davis from Winnipeg, would this thread exist?

Let's give Pavel Bure a call while we're at it.

Daze's back is finished.

Its really too bad as I thought he became a different player when Brian Sutter took over the team and Eric turned into a very decent player including his first 70 point season.

I dont even think his back is worth a shot. He had the whole lockout to rehab and rest his back. Yet, he played the opening period of the very first game of the 05-06 season and we never saw him again.

His back is toast.
