Salo sent home? I can't find any confirmation of this. Can you provide a link? Does this mean Valliquette is the backup for the rest of the trip?

It was mentioned on another message board. I've been trying to locate a link as well. Apparently Big Valley has been called up.

The Edmonton Journal today mentions Salo as being sent home for MRIs on his hip & groin that have been bothering him since the bag skate a couple weeks ago, and then Sarno ran into Salo recently and aggravated it some more. He thought he could play against Toronto & MacT went with him, but in hindsight...??

Wish I could get a confirmation on Salo for the Sportsnet hockey pool. If Salo can't go for a few games I would put Conklin(4) in net for this week.I have a hunch that Ty might light a fire under the boys if he plays like he has.

According to the paper, Conklin will play against the Rangers and Bruins.

Why is everyone putting Salo's groin injury in quotes? Is it impossible to consider that the injury is real and that its the reason for Salo's poor play?

Jim Matheson of the Journal reported the following
Quote:
Salo flew home Sunday and will have an MRI today to try to determine what's wrong with his hip or groin, a condition that's been bugging him for two weeks. He says it started to hurt after the team was put through a gruelling bag skate on Oct. 27, following a loss to Calgary.

Isn't it ironic that the Oilers play brutal and as punishment the #1 goalie is injured in practice?

Nevermind that... I wonder how Valiquette must have felt. His first practice after he gets called up is the big ol bag skate....
