You may want to clarify if we are talking realistically or not and if you are thinking in regards to this year or further down the track. Otherwise, I expect to see many, many nominations for Crosby and Ovechkin, and some smart **** suggesting Aki Berg.

A Dagenais-Locke-Rupp line with Boulion and Chara on D.

Of the people still available, I'd take a chance with Carter and Shanahan. I've been a fan of Peca for a while, but I heard he was a nightmare in the locker room. If these rumours are false, than I'd jump at the chance of signing him for cheap.

I'd like the Habs to get Weiss. i think this kid is ready to break out offensively, and he's not going to be given the opportunity with Jokinen, Horton and nieuwendyk on their roster.

this deal makes sense for everyone. Florida could use another goalie after canning McLellan and dealing Luongo; Auld and Aebischer would make a decent tandem IMO.

It's no secret that Keenan likes big physical defencemen, and he was going after Pronger, Chara, and Jovo. Souray fits the bill.
Weiss was a top five pick a mere five years ago, same year as Komo, who is also just coming into his own. He's not huge but he's really skilled, and still has the potential to be a PPG player IMO.

What a great young forward core we'd have to grow with in Lats, Chipchura, Lapierre, Murray, Kostitsyn, Weiss, Zhogy, Higgins, and Pleks...nine NHL or close to NHL ready players under 25 all within four years in age difference.

Of free agents left:

Shanahan at $8 million/2 years

and

Eric Lindros at $1 million/1 year with bonus of $50,000 for each and every game over 60 he either plays or is a healthy scratch.

If he manages to stay healthy for 70 games his total salary would be $1.5 million. So the max he could earn if he was healthy for the complete 82 game schedule would be $2.1 million.

And then watch him play softer than Ribeiro to make sure that he gets his full pay.

To be honest i would have liked to seen one of the big three defenseman join our habs, Jovo, Chara or even a trade for Pronger. Unfortunately though all three are all set for other teams.... so i guess i'm gonna just say i'd like to Chris chelios... 10 years ago!!!!

For me I would really like to see Brad Richards become a Hab. I feel he would be the center we need, great player with good heart and fit well with the style of hockey we play.

I would follow this closely with Crosby.
