Hey hes available, why not propose a deal to him to come back and add a nice dimension of fragile speed, skill and size to our young lineup?

That's what I wanted to post too. Panic and/or deception ignited a tendancy to look to the past for answers: let's bring back Perreault ! No, let's bring back Brashear ! Hey, Rucinsky isn't signed ! How about Ulanov ? Or maybe Petrov ?

My throwback pick: Gaston Gingras : I feel the new NHL is taylor made for this lenghty, mobile puck-moving defenceman; not to mention his rocket of a shot would help greatly on the pp if we were to trade away Sheldon...

NO, NO, NO. If we have a problem with Bulis taking nights off and cheating. Please do not bring back Rucinsky.

may be Gainey could put in an hat all the names of the free agent that are not sign yet , and without looking , choose a name. Than he would have to give him an offer of 7 seasons at 7 m$ per year .

Gingras in his "prime" for the reasons you mentioned would have been taylor-made for the new NHL.

I'd much rather have Kovalenko.

I don't think Rusinsky would be a good fit here and he's getting up there in age. I'd rather sign no one then just pick up random dead wood thats left available after all the good players are signed. Though he did in fact have a very productive season last year somthing tells me Jagr is written all over that.

He was getting a point per game even when he wasn't playing with Jagr. I'm not in love with the idea of adding a guy like Rucinsky, but he did play some excellent hockey last year.
