Jeff Friesen or Jeremy Roenick?

I know what's done is done, I was just curious who you would have taken if the call was yours.

A little Information first....based on the last 5 seasons.

Friesen - 30 years old - 373 games played - 75 Goals - 115 assists - 190 points - $1.6m (06-07 salary)

Roenick - 36 years old - 354 games played - 106 Goals - 165 assists - 271 points - $1.2m (06-07 salary)

it would be a harder desision if roenick wasnt cheaper. thats a great bargain for him. would have been nice. even at an even price it would be hard to pass on roenick.this should tell us that we didnt land roenick cause of sutter's stubborness. ahh well, iam still happy with the friesen signing

actually Roenick was ready to accept Sutter's offer until Gretzky called him... Phoenix is where is family lives... i cant condem a guy for going home

I guess I'm kinda biased, but I think Friesen is a better deal. He's more durable, faster, and a lot younger. Sure, they both have the potential to put up decent numbers if they have good rebound seasons, but I think Friesen is a better fit for Calgary. Plus Friesen has won a cup, and has been coached by Sutter in the past (for his best years).

For the difference of $0.4mil, its could be considered a toss up.

Friesen. He could rebound and be an honourable Flame for the next 3-5 seasons while I feel Roenick is lucky if he finishes the 06-07 season.

X-Factor

Jeff is more of a team player and is better in the dressing room. Wont be a distraction when he opens his mouth.

Interesting.... TSN has Roenick signing with the Coyotes within an HOUR of signing with the Flames...

While I do believe Friesen would be the safer bet, Roenick's talent as a center would have been badly needed here.

Plus, imagine how many Iginla/Tanguay/Roenick jerseys would have been purchased. We would have had 3 bonafide superstars on our team, not including Regehr/Phaneuf/Kiprusoff.

Makes ya wonder.
