Most loved former Canadien?

Only counting players who still play in the NHL.

Recchi is mine, by far. He was my favourite player for the longest time.

Patrick Roy and Jose Theodore are probably my 2 favorite Habs of all time. Kirk Muller is also up there though.

Off the top of my head, mine would be Recchi too.

I'd take him back on this team in a heartbeat.

Claude Lemieux, who else could start a bench clearing brawl and bite the other opponents fingers

Mark Recchi for me too.

Oh, and Brian Savage. He was the best 30-goal scorer that never scored 30, and a nice guy on top of that.

I'll always have a soft spot for Turgeon and Brisebois.

Out of the active players, I'd say Recchi.

For retired players I'd say Benoit Brunet and Guy Carbonneau

He did it all in one game in 86 against Hartford. First he shoots the puck into the net pregame and then Hartford players try to get at him and the brawl begins on and off for the next hour or so before the game. During this time one Hartford player complains of almost losing his finger to Lemieux biting him . So only Claude could perform such a trifecta and have his own teammates angry at him. But he redeems himself by getting the overtime goal and help lead the team to Stanley.

I always liked Oleg Petrov. Even though he was small and didn't have much skill, he always worked his behind off when he donned that hallowed jersey (and let's be honest: at the time, not many of 'em did).

he had great hands, just couldn't put the puck in the net.

Mark Recchi and Pierre Turgeon, I almost stop watching habs the day they traded Recchi for Zubrus, 2nd round pick and 6th round pick...

And I almost died the day they traded Turgeon for Shayne Corson and Murray Barron!.. God this was a terrible trade!.. Can't think we could got worse than this one..

Also, Mathieu Schneider & Eric Desjardins (well he just retired himself..)

Retired players, no doubt, Patrick Roy.
