Is Huet a Stop gap?

I was wondering, is Huet nothing more than a stop gap until Price becomes the Habs #1???

Also, what kind of goalie do you expect Price to be in the NHL?

Thanks....

It could be 3 years before Price is even ready to take over full backup duties, so he's got a long ways to go just yet before we can even start to see what we got. He should be in Hamilton towards the end of this season once Tri City's season is over, assuming he stays with Tri City. Next year he'll be in Hamilton I would guess, I would be shocked to see us bring him along quickly but if he plays a lot better then he did this past year then perhaps he could force Gainey to keep him in the NHL. If I had to put money on it, I'd say Price is still at least 2 years away and could easily be 4 years away imo. That said it's really hard to guage a goalie but even harder when they are in juniors still. I look forward to seeing him in Hamilton to get a better feel for him.

If he keep it up he's gonna be more than a stop gap. He will be the franchise.

if he leads the leauge this season or is top 5 id say no .my bet is he finishes top 5 this year AHEAD OF THEO

id keep him around till he was 36 years old or when ever he slowed down . even as a back up . by then price should be ready (4 to 5 years)

Are you seriously asking a question like this?

Yes, he's pretty much gone after his contract (3yr)

I don't think so. I think he's our number one goalie and that the Habs would love to be in a position where they have two superb goalies to fall back on. Price is most definitely the future, but IMO that takes nothing away from Huet.

As for what type of goalie Price will be, I think if he matures the way we expect him to; we'll see a goalie very much like Luongo, very athletic and a dominant. Depending on his agility and development he might end up being another Hasek...or he could be a by-line in a "whatever happened to..." thread.

I think yes he is, but Huet is really saving the team while Price is ready... he's not only good, he's savong us, that's for sure...

But I think Price is gonne be one of the best goalies in the league... not the best, but one of the bests with Fleury, Lehtonen, and Ward... gonna be good

Price is at least 3, more likely 4-5 years away from regular NHL #1 duties. That's a bit long to consider Huet "stopgapping".
