I've a good connection and had to wait at least 2-3 min to get it
Wouldn't it be awesome if Garbo, Kosts and Lats win spots in training camp and form an incredible Kid Line? Chip and Lapierre are warriors and earn spots on the third and fourth lines as the season goes along?
I miss the old days when bunches of rookies played during the season and contributed in the playoffs, like Lemieux, Roy, Skrudland, Richer, Rooney, Maley, Kordic and Boisvert in our 1986 Cup run.
In 1992 Dionne, Dipietro, Desjardins, Brisebois, Ronan, Leclair, Hill all broke into the league, helping pave the way for the 1993 championship.
In the mid 70s Tremblay, Risebrough, Chartraw, Nyrop and Jarvis all cracked a Hab squad joining players in their early or mid 20s like Gainey, Shutt, Robinson, and Lafleur that went on a 4-year Cup run.
Time for our young talent to shine through - we've waited since the early 90's to have a good couple of years of rookies coming in - last year was good, we need one more to really start to contend since it builds depth and allows the team to deal the underachievers and players heading to free agency that the club doesn't want to re-sign.
Don't want to rain on anybody's parade, even though the signing is great, but it would surprise me a lot if he makes it to the team this season.
He will have to learn to live in the culture, will have to adapt to hockey the NA way (smaller ice, more hitting, better defensive awareness). He'll be in the AHL next season. That doesn't say that he won't be an awesome player, but since his weakness (according to the report) is the physical aspect of the game, I doubt Gainey let's him learn with the big boys.

We will see but at worst we will have him playing in the farm, what is a good news.
anyone think he might join the kids at the developement camp during the weekend? Doubt it, I guess he's more likely to be part of the rookie camp next fall... ?
I know. I can't wait to see him at camp in September. Do you guys think he can make the NHL this season?
If he does, that means that he will have gone over some other potential rookies, like Kost. and Chip. Could happen, but I prefer to see him adapt to the NA life a bit. Plus, he needs to be shaken with some hefty hits first, just to see if he gets scared. Perez got rocked a bit in the early part of the season, and he got rattled. He adapted later on, but I remember him being shy in the corners for a while.

The thing is, he comes in competition with someone who doesnt have any advantages in the physical departement.(Ribeiro)
Plus Grabovski got a couple of advantages over Ribeiro.
1) Hes very valiant in the defensive zone.
2) Hes fast!
3) He got chemistry built with Kostitsyn. (He may win by association.)

Ribeiro just signed a contract for 1,9 millions dollars (way more than I expected, I thought 1,4 maximum) so I don't think Grabovski can grab his spot, but we never know if he has a super camp and Ribeiro is dealt then maybe but I have the feeling that with the Ribeiro signing today we are stuck with him as our second line center...
