My vote goes to :

Dale "Monkey man" Purinton... I hope I never see this joke of a player on another NHL ice surface again.
Agreed. I think some people are going overboard here.

This thread is taking a turn that is far from the original intent. Kenady? Seriously, 2 games in and he becomes loathsome?

Uh-uh, Yeremeyev. Kazakh goalie... he was an Olympian last year... only played a few games for us, was horrible.

Witehall had a cool name... where is he now?

From recent history, Kamensky. The man should have worn a mask after stealing a lot of my money for season tickets.

Dating myself, Ken Hodge. The man was a waste and was brought in to appease Espo. And who did we give up ladies and gents for this POS? That's right...Rick Middleton. A youngster whose career included 988 points in 1005 games in the regular season and 100 points in 114 playoff games.

For that I will forever hate Ken Hodge.

Sorry Larry, didn't see your post. And I would think it is brilliant minds think alike.

Everytime I think of Hodge my first reaction is the trade and the second is him wearing number 88 (with Espo being 77 and Davidson 00) in the Ranger logo jersey. Man, it was tough to be a Ranger fan back then.

I tend not to like negative threads, because people can often loose the plot, but signing Billy Freakin Tibbetts was, to my mind, the lowest point of the previous 7 years.

As for my pick...Rumun Ndur. A lot of hype because he was the first Nigerian born NHLer, and then he did nothing... I heard he played for that Danbury Thrashers team that g52 told us about, with the teenage owner being arrested because of mob ties...

Nope. He disgraced the franchise. Quit on his teammates and generally was a blight on the Rangers sweater.

He came to NY for the money and couldn't even get that right.

Apologies for the delay in the avatar renovation project. Was playing around with "BringBackEmileFrancis" but I dunno....

Amazing weird definitions of loathe around here. If you hate mediocrity this much boy are you living in the wrong culture at the wrong time.

Loathing is reserved for bad apples, crybabies and tankers. Hatcher and Kamensky are great choices. And how did Fleury arrive so late to this dance? And Quintal, of course. And bloody Keane, who never showed up for work...what was that all about? Here's one I haven't seen, maybe unjustified maybe not...but how about Mark Pavelich for simply deciding to walk out? Or Curt Giles for demanding to be freed from New York?

Go ahead and vent about Vladimir Vorobiev all you want, I don't get it.

The guy I absolutly hate the most and would never want to see back has got to be theo fleury. As much as you all give the bum a break because of his "problems", he was the biggest waste of cash, and anticipation, EVER. Valerie Kamensky is a close second. Also, I would hope Trottier would never be part of this organization ever again.

Note: I didn't read some of the above posts, ill go with singn's opinion on this one. I hate that duech.

The entire 1996 trade deadline.
I still wonder why we picked up a guy who had one good year playing on that Crazy 8's Line in Philly. Anyone could have done damage with Lindros and Recchi, the same way Renberg was a useless 3rd wheel with Lindros and LeClair on the LOD Line.

That trade deadline was a disaster.

Ferraro, Laperriere, Lafayette, Steve Larouche, and Norstrom for McSorley, Churla, and Kurri... one of the top 3 worst deals in Rangers history.

On top of that, basically throwing away Matteau and Kocur... that was almost as bad.

I think Stephane Quintal gets my vote. Anyone think JoJo Murphy would be all over this thread if he had actually signed a contract and played a game as a Ranger?
