Jody Shelly has 2 goals against the Flames

Game is on TSN in Canada. Shelly has two goals and a fight so far. The Flames are just shooting themselves in the foot, but the Jackets look like the team I think many expected - finally - after their injuries have healed.

There was a lunar eclipse last night--I think that's the only explanation for Shelley's play today.

But you're right--the Jackets look like they're (hopefully) coming around.

The Flames look like a frustrated team; they're taking waaay too many dumb penalties. Something's gotta give. With Turek out longtime... they really need a goalie and fast.

On the other hand, the Jackets do look like a very sharp team.

No, it's a goal, fight, and assist.

If it was a misconduct then Iginla wouldn't have as many as he does.

he has allowed only 14 goals this year (13 were powerplay).

I don't know, but other than this game (thought they still didn't have too many PIMs, but they had most in the 2nd period close together) the Flames are FAR more disciplined this year, but their PK just ALWAYS sucks, its really amazing, when I watch it this year it seems like it should be vastly improved on previous years, but no, it still sucks, I mean Jody Shelley scored on the PP? And then again even strength. The Flames offense has been anemic, but if McLennan can stop one of the goals by Shelley the Flames were pressuring so much on offense they could have scored and gained a 2 goal lead and never looked back. But both the 1-0 and 2-1 leads were lost, and the 2-1 lead was lost with gusto. Not that I blame McLennan completely, but I think Sabourin starts on Wednesday.

oddly enough they don't seem to differentiate between whether the goals are even strength vs power play goals. Seems that would be a another good way of breaking down a goalies performance.

OK, here are the results:

He's allowed a total of 17 goals; 10 powerplay & 7 at even strength. He has been pulled in 2 of the last 3 games. In 2 of his losses, the flames failed to score a goal. He hasn't allowed more than 3 goals in any games. Updated gaa=1.94 & sv % is .904

Bottom line I'm glad to have him on my fantasy team.
