May I hear some feasible Biron proposals?

From any team, really, but he wants to start. There aren't many teams in the market for a starter anymore, so leave it to Detroit, maybe St. Louis, and possibly Columbus. Brin them on.

the canes got gerber for tomas malec and a third round pick. you can say biron is more of a sure thing than gerber was coming into the season, but i think the comparison is plausible. i would think that a solid but not high end prospect, or maybe a ok prospect + 2/3 round pick would do it. they arent waiting to get a lot back for him, are they? i thought they're just waiting to sign miller. they certainly arent going to want any salary back with 12 guys going to arbitration.

I don't know, rumour has they were asking for Staios and Torres at the deadline. Darcy does like to get value back in his trades.

It sucks for Biron, but I could easily see him backing up Miller again this year.

Nothing is reasonable if Darcy Regier has anything to say about it. He needs to win the trade hands down, it has to benefit his team much more then the other team. Most teams, while trading are trying to improve their team but they have to help the other team out otherwise it doesn't make sense.

I though the Biron for Staios offers were solid. But it wasn't enough I guess.

youdve thought LA wouldve been interested in him if they would trade for cloutier. either darcy isnt moving him yet or he's asking for too much.

Maybe if you talk to yourself, then you could hear a decent proposal.

at the deadline, it was common knowledge that Buffalo was looking for defensive help. Lowe offered Staois which was a very fair price for your back-up goalie.

Regier got greedy and this cost him a trip to the finals.

I don't think so. Regier really screwed you guys on this one by waiting too long. There are only a few teams still in the market for goalies and several comparable goalies availabe via trade and free agency. So why would you trade anything of substance for a goalie when you can sign someone comparable for nothing.

The fact is, that you're probably going to have to start the season with him and his $2mil salary may force you to deal a forward, to save some money.

And for the umpteenth time, there is no credible evidence that that offer was made.

From Phoenix Spiller and a conditional pick.

Phoenix would likely have to wait for Cujo to go down with injury before they make an effort to go after a guy like Biron. Something worth watching given Buffalo's need for more help on the bluelne and Phoenix's very good NHL depth and strong prospect pool at that position.

That may be true, but Biron's trade value was probably at its highest at the trade deadline. Staios for Biron made a lot of sense for both teams at the time. Lowe and Regier were talking about Biron, that is for certain, and Regier wouldn't take whatever Lowe was offering.

The only reason you had to give up crap all was because Hasek came right out and told Darcy he was not to take much in the trade or he'd retire. Really the guy was winning vezina's like it was going out of style, arguably the best at the time and all we got was a late first rd pick, Slava Kozlov.

If we did not have miller i would not even consider looking for a new goalie.Infact you will not hear one sabres fan say marty sucks get him out of here. I don't think i have ever herd that. But then again i have herd that about lindy ruff but normally that just characterized the persons knowlage about hockey. I am shocked at all the people who think marty is just decent. Whomever gets marty is going to have a sure starter. as long as your defense does not compleatly suck. marty has the ability to win games on his own. and he has had a few fantastic hasek like games over his career. Some game this season aganist montreal might have been one of the best games i have seen from a goalie. He has very good instincts.

i think whoever trades for marty is going to need and want to lock him up for at least 2 seasons.

That's all the Sabres need. Another player who's going to arbitration. Look, if they get a young player like Hudler, they'll come out ahead.
